The arrests came the morning after 17-year-old De'Marquise Elkins' first court appearance on murder charges in connection with the fatal shooting of 13-month-old Antonio Santiago. Santiago was in a stroller on a walk with his mother, Sherry West, in the coastal town of Brunswick on Thursday when the shooting occurred. West was also shot.

These mugshots make me so sad. It’s like looking into walking dead eyes. They are lifeless. If D’whatevertheirnameis have eyes like this, I can see how they could shoot a baby in the head. Not agreeing with it, think they should be put down like rabid pitbulls, but dang. These are dead people from the inside.
I agree with you, I’ve heard them called shark eyes before. No real sign of life there when you look at them. Very eerie to see, also when they see how a “normal” person reacts to their eyes I’ve seen that quick little grin they make when they’ve spotted another potential victim/meal.
They only thing they respect is force and quick violent force is even more respected.

I may be flamed here... but at the age of 15, my daughters got Implanon. Two so far. Neither has had problem with it. Neither has acted out (ok, my newly 15 year old has had a late bloomer “You can’t tell me what to do MOTHER!” streak, but is normal for teenage daughters). I figure that if we can prevent the “I DIDN’T MEAN TO MOMMY!” accident/pro-life/adoption/oh my god drama, why not???
I never forced them, I just explained that this is WISDOM and taking advantage of awesome technology. And condoms exist for a reason, so USE THEM.
I’m sure I will get some “MY KIDS WOULD NEVER!” and that is also how many a shotgun wedding happened from when time began until now. Looking at the pictures of the mother and the aunt, it’s pretty likely that if Obama had a son and fathered it by either of these women, that son would look like the suspect.
Perhaps someone should ask Obama if the two suspects (pictures of each have now been published) look like his son would look if he had a son?

I got it and I think as parents we need to be realists. It’s not the olden days.
Oh, that is TAUGHT. For sure. But teaching involves understanding. And I pray everyday that they understand WHY God said not to fornicate. That there is a reason to not have children(SEX) until a man is dedicated to them. There is lessons I have taught since they were born. However, I know how the world works and I can only control so much without outliers coming into play.

No, sadly, it is not. Even in my generations (born in 72) it wasn’t drilled about abstinence. But by life lessons, and Grace by God, I have learned. I just hope my Grace has influenced them a little...

I’m sure that any of your daughters that becomes afflicted with teenage stupidity will mature and outgrow it. And they’ll outgrow it without having a lifelong “souvenir” fathered by some slimy creature—a slimy creature that, later in life, she would not trust to correctly change her car’s oil.
Me too. I’d not understood the importance of sexual morality. We grow up in a culture awash with sexual permissiveness and it’s reinforced in the media and school.
Thank you. That idiot non-changing oil type person was who I was hoping to avoid for my kids. And like I said, they agreed. Abstinence is always best, however sometimes a night of “OH MY GOD, WHAT HAVE I DONE” can last a lifetime.
