two teenage boys shoot a sleeping baby, Kimberly Anderson was still wondering a couple of days after hearing gunshots and a distraught, wailing mother outside her home here.
Since Thursday morning, when a 14-year-old and a 17-year-old allegedly shot 13-month-old Antonio Santiago, Anderson and others in the usually quiet neighborhood in this coastal city have been trying to wrap their minds around a senseless crime that has been played out over and over in the media.
In Brunswick, a town of 15,000 residents off I-95 in southeast Georgia near St. Simons Island, neighbors initially shared rumors about who was responsible and feared how the community would react. After Brunswick police announced Friday the arrest on murder charges of Demarquis Elkins, 17, and a 14-year-old whose name was not released, anger continued to simmer over the brutality of an infant shot to death in his stroller.

If I put some dogs in my backyard, & do nothing but neglect & abuse them, who is at fault if these maladjusted, essentially WILD, dogs get out & kill a child? Isn't that criminal neglect? Shouldn't the owner, absent or not, be held criminally liable?
Many times, parents go beyond mere neglect by ignoring obvious criminal behavior. Demaquis’ aunt seems eager to commit perjury with her eggs & grits story. I'll bet she & the mother know a bunch about Demarquis’ activities. Harboring a criminal? Violations of multiple gun laws? Stolen goods in the house?
(I think there is a correlation between the intensity of the wailing & thrashing about, & the level of complicity in the crimes of their children.)
We must have strong laws that hold BOTH parents criminally responsible for the criminal acts of their minor children. Neglect is just as bad as physical abuse. Abandonment is worse.
Perhaps, if the entitlement class had to actually RAISE their kids instead of just having them to get more entitlements, they might consider whether having kids they care nothing about is such a wise investment. Perhaps absent fathers would pay a price for their irresponsible promiscuity.
The government. Just put the kids in the government schools. They'll handle everything.
Cultural pathology. Toss the ghastly perps into prison for the rest of their useless lives.
That is an interesting poem as well.
“......Antonios father, Luis Santiago, who was arrested and jailed briefly after the shooting when his grief overwhelmed him and he began screaming at West, blaming her for their sons death.
Im not upset with the boys, Santiago said Saturday of the two teenagers charged with killing his son. They didnt have a good upbringing........”

The poor Mother...this despicable, poor excuse of a father/husband is “not upset with the ‘boys’” who murdered his infant son but instead blames the baby’s mother.
What the hell kind of community do they have in Brunswick, Georgia? What’s next...jury nullification? Or designation of “the boys” as community heroes & victims of whitey?
I’m guessing that no Ben Carson will be coming out of this community anytime soon!
