I had a Toshiba for years 'til it finally conked out on me. It survived a lot of abuse and traveling. The weak point seemed to be the AC adapter port. I had to replace the actual adapter twice due to shorts where the wire joined the actual plug, and the last time it went, it was the actual port inside the computer that gave way.
As best you can, try not to bend the cable near the plug, or jostle the area too much, but that's probably sound advice for any laptop, not just Toshiba.

I have a Satellite that’s been a workhorse for years except the LCD converter burnt up so I use another monitor.

I am very careful with that connector and remind people, family, friends all the time. I hear Apple has a flexible plug there that cannot kill the motherboard socket. That's a great idea. Freeper Swordmaker told me about this. But there are so many generic AC power adapters for PC laptops there is no discipline. Ebay is the best place to buy replacement AC power adaptors for laptops

The weak point seemed to be the AC adapter port. That was exactly what happened to my Toshiba. It ended up a doorstop because of that silly AC port. But that was a great computer, with a speaker and sound quality.

Come to think about it, I had to replace an AC Adaptor too for that reason. The after-market one is a universal with a 90 degree angle so it doesn’t have the wire bend when coming up behind it.
