12 volt power supply with a built in 12 volt dc to 120 volt ac inverter and it has a light and it can be used to jump start a car as well.
There are a number of different makes and manufacturers of the same type of equipment.

An interesting hand-held unit to investigate is the frequency-hopping device made by TriSquare. I can imagine that being very beneficial in a tactical situation.
Also, CB radio is underrated ... in a disaster you may want to have access to as much info as possible, and if you get SSB you can also have less crowded channels.
