Maybe Jicama? It’s wonderful, raw or cooked!

Have you by chance grown jicama? And if so, was it easy? Very fussy? I had a friend of mine grow a jicama plant last year-he said it grew well but didn’t produce. We are in Nashville TN zone 6.
