In a recent interview with NPR on gun control proposals, vice president Joe Biden assiduously avoided the real reason for the Second Amendment: it’s not about hunting Joe! It’s about defense against a tyrannical government.
But in his carefully rehearsed remarks, Mr. Biden let slip the real reason he and other statist politicians want to continue to infringe on our right to bear arms, including an admittedly unpopular ban on “assault weapons” and high-capacity magazines: government entities don’t want to be “outgunned”!
Hear him say it for yourself: “The people I go to, to look to, when we talk about assault weapons and magazines; talk to the police officers. They are tired of being outgunned. They are tired of being outgunned.”

What a liar!!!! I've done ride-alongs with the local LEO’s and they are carrying select fire M-16’s. I am not allowed to have a fully automatic weapon and don't even want one but to say that I have more legal firepower than they do is an outright bold faced lie. Our VP is a liar.

It always was an arms race, moreso between cops and criminals than cops and the entire citizenry. But since everyone is almost always guilty of something (what do they call it? Three felonies a day?) and especially since forces in the War on Some Drugs and SWAT teams across the land need something to do, it affects Joe Marchmadness, too.
So... we should let the tens of thousands of crimes that are prevented each year by ordinary citizens with guns happen?

Law enforcement is not even on the top ten list of hazardous professions. Not even close. Most police are paid an impressive salary, outrageous pension benefits, and almost criminal job security provisions compared to the workers on that list. These unionized wimps should shut up and be glad they've got their jobs.
