We've got those blasted little moths all over around here. I use DE a lot because they get into any kind of carbohydrate like beans, rice, corn &ct... I generally store whole grains and grind as required. Oils in the grains tend to make flours rancid pretty quickly.

I do buy some wheat flour now, but that's just for day-to-day use and I rarely have more than 20-40 lbs on hand. Sounds like a lot, but I bake all of my own bread and go through it quickly. I don't buy store bread unless I've been sick for a week. Blech. Store bread.

No more of those moths for me, one time did it for me. My beans and rice and cornmeal and pastas are also in the long term Walton cans. The flour is good for ten years, the rest of the foods for 20-25 yrs.. Cans under all the beds. I sleep over my food - how comforting.
