Both of my daughters are in high school. I wish they could carry. I trust the judgement of my youngest daughter, a 15 year old, more than anyone in government. Both of my girls shoot better than me ... but not much better.
Mine just graduated college and is back home looking for a good job (good luck in this economy). She could not carry on campus so we waited until she graduated to get her CHP. I bought her a Beretta PX4 Storm for Christmas. She loves it. She is as much a conservative as I. I am quite proud of her.
She is an excellent shot and is better with 40's and 45's than with the smaller calibers. She could not find a 45 compact that was comfortable for her so she settled with a 40 S&W that fits her perfectly.
I can remember when my father took my baby sister out and helped her get her permit and a Baretta Tomcat .32. She was 21 and in college. My mother (66-ish) still carries a .380 and checks it in at the casino boats when she goes with her friends.
My daughter is 11 and wants to know when I'll get her own gun. I have a .22 for her and her brother (it was their great grandfather's first gun) and there is likely a .410 in her future if I can scrape together a couple nickels (or find a leprechaun).
