Pop prince Justin Bieber may have over 35million followers on Twitter but there seems to be many more people who just cant stand him.
There is no stopping the Baby hit makers musical bandwagon fuelled by the passionate fans he likes to call Beliebers despite a tumultuous week on tour in London.
One man, however, is on a mission to stop the Canadian pop star in his tracks after developing a Firefox web browser add-on that censors any mention of his name on the web.
Created by Free Art and Technology Lab developer Greg Leuch, the Shaved Bieber even blocks out any pictures of the 19-year-old.
Weve developed a series of innovative tools to help cover the lower regions of web pages from unwanted Justin Bieber content, he explained.
Shave away those Bieber mentions on web sites with our bookmarklet, Firefox Add-on, or JavaScript files.
The launch of the Bieber blocker tops off a bad week for the star who has faced a barrage of criticism for showing up two hours late to his opening show at the O2.
He then collapsed on stage after suffering breathing difficulties before getting in a scuffle with paparazzi after a brief spell in hospital.
Bieber was stuned after hearing about this.
That selection of the name for that Add-on shows true brilliance.
Stuningly so.
Not if they install the Bieber Blocker.
brutal.
Wow! Where did you find that? It has to be Scandinavian but the accent is off from Swedish.
They were trying hard. And to their credit, it is clearly Pre-MTV so they didn’t have Boy George and Duran Duran as shining examples to build on.
The video is from Finland. They really need black people.
And here I was, getting my hopes up, only to have them crushed when I read the “from the web” part.
Wow!
Just wow.
I have been waiting for Jim R. To introduce a similar feature here on FR. I might not be able to get rid of the deep cover trolls, but I might never have to read their crap ever again. Talking to themselves is the perfect solution!
I’ve never seen nor heard Justin Bieber. The name alone is off-putting enough.
Progress is progress.
“The video is from Finland. They really need black people.”
To be fair, it looks like it is mid-70’s from the hair and the whole schtick. Things all over the world were pretty stupid then schtick-wise—black or white. Remember Afros? And mullets? And Disco?
I suspect that the parents of 90% of the people who were over 18 in the 70’s have a collection of very embarrassing pictures of them sporting leisure suits or other stunning 70’s fashion statements. Fortunately, I did not dance then . . . or now.
Of course, no such pictures exist of me. But my brothers . . .
I know a pic of me in a butterfly collar exists. My excuse is that I was five at the time.
I watched that muted, while listining to “Brandy” on my smartphone. I almost passed out.
That was stunning. I’m speechless.
