I’m not clear on something.
After Rick & co. returned to the prison, he told the group that the governor wants them dead, so prepare for war. Now, was he lying to them because he doesn’t want to tell them about the Michonne bargain, and therefore believes the governor will honor the part to leave them alone if he turns her over?
Or was he being straight with them because he understands that the governor would NOT honor the bargain and would kill them all anyway?
I can’t believe Rick would be naive enough to trust the guy....but then he did take a sip of that whiskey he was served, despite my yelling at him not to do so.
Based on what was said in the Talking Dead, it appears that Rick intentionally lied to the group to prepare them for the war that is coming. He doesn’t trust the Governor and believes that the Governor will try to kill them even if they hand over Michonne. For whatever reason, Rick seems to think that lying to them puts fear into the group and that will best help them to get ready for what’s coming. Also, Michonne is considered part of the family (group) now, so I don’t see Rick just handing her over.
Sometimes, Rick needs a kick in the rear to make his brain function.
So that WAS you......I thought so.
