Hippies were rude, dirty, Satan worshipers, according to a paragraph that apparently appears in a Louisiana state-funded schools history book.
The book, entitled America: Land I love is an eighth-grade history textbook that Mother Jones reports is used in at least one Louisiana voucher school. The textbook is published through Pensacola, Fla.-based A Beka Book.
According to an image obtained at AmericaBlog.com, the passage on hippies paints a stark, unflattering image: They went to Canada or European countries to escape being drafted into military services. Many young people turned to drugs and immoral lifestyles; these youth became known as hippies. They went without bathing, wore dirty, ragged, unconventional clothing, and deliberately broke all codes of politeness or manners. Rock music played an important part in the hippie movement and had great influence over the hippies. Many of the rock musicians they followed belonged to Eastern religious cults or practiced Satan worship.

Everything “New Age Indian spiritual BS” is absolutely of the adversary.
I got to see lots of people that at one time were functional melt into nothingness through TM. TM is a gateway to the “second death.”
By 1971 more of the gang I knew were dead than were alive.

A little fill-in.
The “mantras” that the Maharaja Mayhesh handed out were the Hindi names of fallen ‘Angels.’

No they did not worship anything. They were agnostics. They were sinners. as are you and me. The hippies had no use for satan or God. You are full of crap as always.

Hyberbolic BS makes you less credible when telling the truth, and that is exactly what this is...
I agree, but hyperbolic? Perhaps. BS? No. Since I cannot attest to the level of hyperbole not having read the textbook, I just have to point out that it is Mother Jones. They don't come much further left or conversant in their own brand of ridiculously overblown tripe than that.
Hippies were something I saw on TV as a little kid and that was later on anyway. The "Summer of Love" image that was presented is just as much exaggerated as this textbook is being painted as being. This is a classic case of the need for for actual teachers and not the indoctrination commissars that are being pumped out.
My next-door neighbor did the commune, hippie, drug culture, free love, etc. etc. thing. You would be hard pressed to find someone more adamantly opposed to it and yes, everything listed in that article we have talked about, and more.
To: GeronL
I had no use for hippies back in the day and I am not defending them. However I would not single out hippies when it comes to the sin department. There are sinners everywhere and they fill churches as well. It’s as if some do not understand the difference between agnostics and satan worshipers.
To: plain talk
I didn’t single out hippies, we are all sinners of course.
