Many Freepers have been commenting on the most recent Star Wars casting rumors http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-chat/2994628/posts.
But one comment gives inspiration for an inquiry.
The gist of it was that Lucas HAS to use the original actors.
But suppose you didn't want to engage in heavy make-up or CGI trickery to present Hammil, Fisher and Ford as youthful characters in their beloved roles.
You are asked to pick some of today's performers to step into their shoes.
So...IF you were to cast Episode VII as though it was picking up where Return of the Jedi left off: Who would you cast ast Han, Luke and Leia?
Chuck Norris as Obi-wan Kenobi, but he would screw up the storyline when he kicks Vader’s butt on the Death Star instead of dropping his guard.
All these suggestions of young hotties for Leia. You all forget how Star Wars works. The next trilogy will be set several years AFTER Episode VI.
Han Solo : Harrison Ford
Luke Skywalker : Bruce Willis
Princess Leia : Betty White
ROTFLMAO!!!!!!
DAWG!!!!!!
Definitely Kate Upton...
Good Luck...
Laz is on the hunt
Tiffani Amber Theissen’s hotter sister!!!!
I'm not familiar with the extended universe. Does something else happen later that would make for an interesting story?
Once the Ewoks finish dancing, is there really anything left to write about?
Tom Cruise, Danny Glover and Jane Fonda. (It is fiction, right?)
I read episodes 7-9, years and years ago. Basic concept is that the Empire is broken but some of the pieces are still thrashing around. Eventually what's left of the Empire gets it together, and the "Rebellion" (now in charge) needs to have a big ol' fight and stamp them out. Hijinks ensue.
The only thing that was really memorable about the stories were a couple of the new characters. "Grand Admiral Thrawn"...new big bad guy...and his pet assassin "Rukh".
Otherwise, I thought that the books were pretty repetitive. Lots of the same combat, over and over again. Might translate well to the big screen, who knows.
Do they have any 6 yr old expert fighter pilots who can wipe out the entire enemy force by repetitively flipping a switch?
Just goes to show there are hundreds of potential candidates. I’ll start interviews tomorrow.
When I read the original review of the original movie in Time Magazine (spit!) back in '75 or so, it was discussed at that time as part of a triple-trilogy, with a total of 9 movies in the epic. You recall that the time-lag between Episode III and IV is more than just a few years. Luke and Leia are babies who are hidden away at the end of III.
Given this, I would expect that Episode VII would pick up about 20+ years beyond Episode VI. Hence my proposed casting.
I stand by it.
Ummm...I’ll have to think about it! Jensen Ackles (of Supernatural) could pull off Han Solo.

LOL!!!
Imagine if that WAS the case. The gene pool in that family would be priceless.
To think that Tiffani Amber Theissen would be the ugly duckling of the family.
