BALTIMORE, - A Maryland father said it was "insanity" to suspend his 7-year-old son from school for chewing his breakfast pastry into the shape of a gun.
Josh Welch, a second-grader at Park Elementary School in Baltimore, said he was trying to chew his breakfast pastry into the shape of a mountain during breakfast at the school Friday, WBFF-TV, Baltimore, reported Monday.
"It was already a rectangle and I just kept on biting it and biting it and tore off the top and it kinda looked like a gun but it wasn't." the boy said. "All I was trying to do was turn it into a mountain but, it didn't look like a mountain really and it turned out to be a gun kinda."
However, he said he knew he was in "big trouble" when a teacher saw what he created.
B.J. Welch, the boy's father, said he was shocked when Josh was suspended for two days.
"I would almost call it insanity. I mean with all the potential issues that could be dealt with at school, real threats, bullies, whatever the real issue is, it's a pastry ... ya know?"
The school sent a note home with students Friday afternoon.
"A student used food to make an inappropriate gesture," the note read.
The kid should have said: “You have a dirty mind. That’s not a GUN, it is a representation of my PENIS!” Everything would have been fine, and the kid would have been sent to gay-lifestyle orientation classes.
Time to get rid of the letter “L” and the number “7” too then. Imagine the chaos if they were both turned on their sides?
While we’re at it remove the letter “C” as it resembles an islamic crescent. Also “t” because it resembles a cross.
Public school = stupidity.
Political correctness = tyranny and censorship.
At first it was a paradox to me, but “Academics” are often the most narrow-minded, reactionary and bureaucratic people I meet.
Thank goodness they caught the little bugger before he could nibble a cookie into an AR-15.
This current spate of what seems like insane sensitivity to firearms looks dumb now, but it is all conditioning for when the kids grow up and vote.
Imagine the RKBA debates when 40% of the USA is conditioned to fear guns, and to hate and shun RKBA supporters.
The oppressors can plan for the long haul, we are seeing it now. Heck already anyone under 40 thinks we live in a democracy, to give an example of conditioning in schools.
Punishing a kid for accidentally creating a forbidden image is thought control in action, crimethink being punished.
Leftists own education. This kind of crap has been going on for decades and has only gotten worse and worse. I see absurd stories like this almost daily now. And for the most part, conservatives do nothing. A very few home school or put their kids in private schools, but most just complain or shake their heads and proclaim (my favorite) “my kids school is not like that”. Right.
At least the school system taught Josh something about cookies. If he wants a couple of days off from school, all he has to do is nibble on cookie.
The absurdity just goes on. What bothers me the most is the intense brainwashing of our youth that guns are bad, guns are evil, anyone who has a gun for any purpose is yucky. My own grandson once wore a Guns’n Roses t-shirt to preschool which only had the name of the band on it, and they were horrified. They made him turn his shirt inside out and treated him like a felon all day long. It won’t be long until they are offering rewards to kids to tell whose parents have guns.
I think it looks like a B-2 Bomber and could kill millions! If it wasn’t really a half eaten Pop tart.
So...I kind of doubt the kid's 'mountain' story.
Either way, the teacher is the one who should be suspended for being such a friggin' dolt.
Makes perfect sense: Instill a sense of shame and guilt into children as early as possible regarding anything associated with guns; the more ridiculous the reason, the better. Presto, future anti-gun person. (The libs hope.)
No less beleivable than a gun...
It was an assault Pop Tart.
By the way... the gun issue aside.... shouldn’t this unregisterd and fat producing food item have been confiscated by school officials? Why was a Pop Tart allowed in the school? Why wasn’t the child given a bit of broccoli instead?
The kids could go on strike with a collective nibbling of cookies into guns.
Well, they don’t call them Baltimorons for nothing!
