Well before John McClane (Bruce Willis) calls his CIA operative son Jack (Jai Courtney) "007 of Plainfield, New Jersey," "A Good Day to Die Hard" already feels more like a Bond movie ("Die-monds Are Forever"?) than what it is, "Die Hard 5."
Or is it "Terminator" or "Taken" or ...? Following the example set by the moronic "Live Free or Die Hard"--which only got worse by casting Justin Long as the personification of a yippy dog--"A Good Day to Die Hard" now depicts formerly relatable cop McClane as an indestructible force. He survives the unsurvivable and smells trouble before there's any in the air. He's never surprised and never shaken, even when he flies to Moscow to rescue his son and lands in the middle of a shootout/car chase. Eh, just another day for the man who always saves it.

About 20 years ago, he got me the three set of the Terminator movies. ;-)
Last year my daughter got a coonhound to be a friend to her ridgeback, that coonhound dog was wild.
She could jump straight up on the table, like she was full of springs instead of legs.
Fortunately, my daughter found a forever home that had another coonhound, on a big country property....the dog is living the life of Reilly now.

Sheesh. CGI is great when it supports a good story. But who wants to just see explosions, or an absurd super-human surviving ridiculous situations?
Just got back. Not really a Die Hard movie, but mindless fun. Not sure if it was added late or not, but great line about mid-way through when Bruce tells the baddies to “come and get them.”

Visually, it is a good movie.
I wanted to get a pair of the boots he wore in finally part of the movie, but the Crockett and Jones Islay boots were $785 a pair.
Those boots were phenomenal...
I read that there were 85 Tom Ford suits made — the ‘ugly ass’ suit he wore on the opening Istanbul car/train chase — and that he wore it on 85 or so different occasions during takes...
Watched “Quantum of Solace” again last night. He really, really LOVED Vesper. (It’s nice to see his feelings & emotions show up once in a while...)
Out of the three Bond movies with Craig as Bond, I’m really torn between “Casino Royale” and “Skyfall” as to which is my favorite. I enjoyed them both tremendously — as with “Quantum of Solace” as well...
Setting aside the wildly improbable plot, there were two major flaws
1) The script needed more work. If this had snappier dialog the inanity of the story line could be forgiven.
2) The appallingly bad cinematography. Jonathan Sela appears to be the culprit.
Constant shaking of the camera, in my opinion, is a sure sign that the cinematographer and the director, John Moore< had zero confidence in themselves or the fundamental strength of the project.
