One of the churches I like in the next diocese/county has a Filipino priest and parishioners. Not a lot, but it’s noticeable. Very pious people. I went to St. Marys in San Fran when I was out there...nearly 100% Filipino. Big church near downtown, I felt like a giant there.
yeah, but history shows they tend to flop at that role...hope Rubio can break that losing streak. I recall Bobby Jindal, barely.
I think that Capitals vs. Penguins matches have pretty much run their course as national showcase games…
Penguins/Devils are where it’s at now. The Devils seem to be the only team that can beat the Pens now. They dropped two to them over the weekend.
And one game started with a fistfight. Drop the puck, drop the gloves.
Didn’t the Islanders beat them last week too?

Nope, we beat the Islanders last time. The time before they beat us.
I just read that the asteroid likely won’t be visible without a telescope from here-that sucks. I get to see the major meteor showers by following the dates on the skywatch website and going outside at night when they are going on, but I can’t get a look at possible future doom?

I am so glad the SEAL who killed Bin Laden has spoken up. That makes me angry. 0 uses it to get reelected and the guys who did the mission are suffering. Pathetic.
I have several of those fine bottles on my bar right now - have had two others and a third, Aberlour, that you don’t show.
So the murderer hadn’t left there after all? I can’t believe he wasn’t across the border and gone days ago. Guess he wasn’t as clever as everyone thought, huh?
I think his end game has been a huge shoot out. His claim to fame. I heard he whined about not having his own family...so that explains his killing another officer’s family. Pathetic twisted man. There are those cheering him on on twitter...sick world we live in.
That was a fine send off for a hero-I’m proud of my state for never forgetting what our soldiers do.
I am, however appalled by a government that uses them to do the dirty work then tries to forget they exist.
There was a Star Trek NG episode I watched again a couple weeks ago on BBCA about a planet run by rich elites that got people to enlist in the military by playing on their patriotism, trained them to be stone cold warriors, then rewarded them with a home in a colony that was pretty much a gulag-they couldn’t leave and live around their “betters” any more.
When the prime minister of the planet was asked by Picard why they didn’t re-integrate their veterans into the general society, he was told that the other people didn’t want them there-and besides, what if they needed them to fight a war for everyone else again? I see the chilling similarity...
