I have a Down’s Syndrome daughter. There is no justification for having her executed. Difficult...yes; fruitless...never.
We are told NOT to sacrafice our children to the gods of world. Abortion is a god to many people in this world.
Who determines what a quality of life is? Is it, IF we can make enough money to buy a big screen TV?
Is it, IF we can go on a Disney cruise and stand in line for autographs for Disney characters and recite lines from their movies?
Is it, IF we can run in the Boston Marathon?
Or is it IF we can learn to be thankful for what we have, and love the people who have been given to us as family?
The answer is that abortion is murder- and we are told not to murder.
Plan and simple.
Raising children is HARD. Don’t have unprotected sex- with penis ejaculation into vagina, on days you are ovulating- IF you can not love a child.
It is not asking people to give up coffee... for God’s sake.
My best friend and his wife were told their second child was going to have Downe’s. They recommended abortion (Canada). Thank God my friend is a strong Christian and believer in life, that he said no and they had a strong healthy girl.
I've never raised a blind kid or a kid with a club foot.
Is it alright with you if I oppose the killing of babies with those conditions? I wonder...
I told my doc don’t even bother testing for it, I was having the baby, period. I was not the only one.
No. No it is not "horrific". My brother with Down Syndrome has the use of all his limbs. He has his sight, his hearing, his other senses. He has his mind; he can read and write and work minor arithmetic, enough to make change and get by day to day. He's learning to hold down a menial job and it makes him happy.
Is it a life I envy? No! But it's not "horrific". He's happy, he's productive, he's a human being designed in God's image just as I am. He doesn't need treatment. It's not a fatal illness.
90% of children diagnosed with DS are killed in their mother's womb. 90%. That number is absolutely horrific. It also tells me that many people who claim to be pro life will commit murder when the chips are down.
Keep your pity for the children who are murdered, not the ones who survive.
I really don’t know, in the long run.
I lost track of them.
Can you imagine what must go through the father’s mind, every time he looks at his daughter?
I also didn’t take the testing. I didn’t need to know or have the spontaneous abortion the testing might cause. I was,”of advanced maternal age”, when I was pregnant with my third.
I figured that if God brought me to it- he was going to take me thru it. Come what may ,I had my third child and she has been a blessing I can not describe with words.
I have worked with Down’s syndrome children and knew there was something much worse in this world- people with no spirit. Now that is a horrifying way to live.
Half the population is below average.
Folks with Down Syndrome make up a small portion of that half.
If it's acceptable to kill the Down Syndrome folks, is it not also acceptable to kill the other below average folks?
Indeed, is it not a requirement to do so? To improve the breed, of course ... indeed, killing the below average folks who don't have Down Syndrome would seem more important. They don't look different from the above average folks, and are more likely to breed.
Shouldn't we embark on a careful plan for improving humanity? Shouldn't we mandatorily test everyone for IQ? Shouldn't we either sterilize or euthanize all the poor useless eaters who are below average? Aren't they just less-human? Aren't they just suffering through lives unworthy of being lived? Shouldn't we also encourage the above average folks to breed, under the careful supervision of the most intelligent?
Have we ever seen this mentality implemented in the past?
Wrong! There is no "answer" there is human life and it is precious in the eyes of God. We lose sight of that and we are where we are today with millions being aborted. A true holocaust.
Just ask this lady what the "answer" is.
Yeah no one talks about the risk of the stupid test when they remove cells to test....
