It is about everything Socialism is against.
Actually, the most blatant conservative movie of the past year was the animated movie for Batman called “Batman, THE DARK KNIGHT RETURNS”.
The 2nd best line in the movie?
REPORTER: “Do you think Batman should return?”
LIB: “I think Batman is a menace. He beats criminals without the permission of the police and he attacks these defenseless poor people in the rough neighborhoods”
REPORTER: ‘So, are you willing to live in those dangerous neighborhoods?”
LIB” Are YOU NUTS? Hell, no, it’s dangerous there.”
I like pie!
Here Comes the Boom is a GREAT movie, I agree!
A friend of mine from Boston was an extra in it and he said the cast was so kind and personable, it was a joy to make.
No sex. Despite an astoundingly good looking Selma Hayek as a school nurse, the movie culminates with a mere kiss separated by the "cage" of the fight.
2) No homosexuality, not even slightly implied. This had to drive the Hollywood "community" nuts.
3) Kevin James's team starts every fight with . . . a prayer? In the name of Jesus???? Wow.
4) Music is held up, not as a force for radical social change, but as a means to uphold those things we traditionally cherish.
5) The sub plot of the immigrants seeking to become Americans weaves American civics throughout, and at the end, the immigrants all go nuts as they become AMERICAN citizens. Wonderful scene.
6) Kind of subtle, but despite the a-hole administrator, he stuck to his guns about the budget and allowed a free-market solution to appear. He didn't say, "we've got to go get a new levy," or "raise taxes."
I give it five stars. I also give "Flight" five stars.
