Dog whistles, anyone?
Dog whistles by definition are supposed to be audible only to dogs. This article comes out and uses terms like “embarrassed,” “sinister,” and “promiscuously.” They aren’t doing a good job encoding their opinion, if that was the plan.
By the way, I was under the impression that the reason Nixon’s list was so bad is that he was personally vindictive and apt to abuse his power to appease his vanity. I wasn’t aware keeping track of your opponents is wrong as such.
