The inability of women in rural Egypt to clean their breasts is causing a diarrhoea epidemic, according to the country's Prime Minister Hisham Qandil.
Qandil was speaking about the spate of recent epidemics in Egypt's rural communities. During the address, he said he had witnessed children suffering from diarrhoea immediately after they have been breastfed because their mothers were unable to clean themselves probably.

Udderly ridiculous - this guy is trying to make mountains out of molehills.
If there is no clean and treated water to wash with, they are better off not washing their breasts most especially before feeding an infant. Otherwise you’re simply contaminating the nipple, which by the way produces it’s own anti-bacterial oil in those little bumps all around it.
It’s more important to clean and dry them after nursing to prevent sores, cracking and infection.
The stupid is strong in this wretched hive of scum and villainy.
You are right. And, too much soap is going to dry out the nipples, leading to the skin becoming chafed and or cracked - leading to infection.
These babies are getting diarrhea from some other source - . (I hope the mothers are washing their hands before feeding, or using their fingers as pacifiers!)
And, when a baby gets diarrhea, breast milk is the best cure for it.
