"In order to take care of as many customers as possible, starting Thursday, January 24, all ammunition sales were limited to three boxes per customer, per day as supply is limited at this time," spokeswoman Ashley Hardie told Reuters on Wednesday.

Interesting take. Thanks for a dose of reality in the conversation.
It got down to 5F last night and has been windy and light snow all day. It is near the high for today at 22F. Yesterday Silvertonm, CO, in the SW corner of the state, got 78 inches of snow.
“pick up an 1858 New Army Remington replica and spare cylinders”
BP pistols are nearly impossible to find now and the cost is through the roof.
Its crazy, no doubt about it. I’m mostly just waiting for the panic buying to subside, but I’m not passing on the chance to buy if the opportunity presents itself at a reasonable price.
I found out this morning that the Cabelas website had the 2100 round cans of Federal 22 bulk ammo in yesterday for a (very) short time before it all got bought up.
Nope........

Hopefully the drought will break and you will not be in the position of wondering if your chosen line of work will exist in a few months. As you experienced in the hay/straw market, we are at the mercy of market forces, including scarcity. The sad thing is that the current scarcity of ammunition is man made, and therefore inexcusable. Doom on the anti capitalists.
Several observations about the ammo shortages. A lot of those AR and Ruger semi-automatic rifles have been sold over the last year. From what I’ve seen at the gun club, many of those users go through bricks of 22LR in a single session. The same with the .223/5.52 rifles. I haven’t seen so many M16 type weapons since I left the service years ago, but it is not uncommon now to see the entire line at the 100/200 yard range with lines waiting to shoot. Remember, this does not include military or police shooters which shoot only at reserved times/days. Finally, I think many shooters are just stocking up. I’ve run into a couple of instances where retailers have been backdooring ammo sales to their special friends but word eventually gets out and they get fired. I personally stocked up over the past year and don’t have to buy any, but I have cut back my shooting somewhat. I think this shortage will pass within a couple months and the best bet is to buy as little as possible at these high prices and wait it out.
“No ammo mentioned in the 2nd.”
No by those specific words, but ...
KEEP and BEAR arms.
Keep is a lot more than hold one in your hands forever.
For example keep livestock — feed, breed, harvest, care for, multiply, buy, sell, (the whole enterprise of livestock).
Arms = armament, something with the potential for lethal damage. Could be firearms, or sword, or mace, or spear ...
Ammunition is an integral part of keeping arms, and making them lethal.
Shall not be infringed!!!
“all the 243 and 270 ammo also.”
My Walmart has so much 243 and 270 (and that’s about all) that I joked that I needed two more rifles.
Aafter I bought my first pocket pistol, a Sig P232 SL in 2007, I bought two cases of .380. Ever since I always buy by the case when it’s on sale of 9mm and .45 auto.
“My Walmart has so much 243 and 270 (and thats about all) that I joked that I needed two more rifles.”
Good enough reason for me.
Are you saying your weekly/monthly deliveries from your distributors are less now than they were before the election and Sandy Hook?
Less is one word that you could use. Darn near non-existent would be more accurate though. It is so difficult to find anything in stock that I have stopped looking for anything. I am not going to tie the cash up in backorders. That is how bad it is.
Cabelas has some on sale now, and the 1858 is in stock with the starter kit for $279.99
my local walmart said they have not recieved .22 LR since before Christmas.
