I respectfully disagree with your analysis. We are the stewards of our earthly lives, not the masters. It is a short step from the so-called "right to die" to an imposed duty to die. What we are seeing here and now is that that duty may be imposed not only by government, but also by society, either as a result of popular pressure or as a result of the the actions of unseen holders of the purse-strings. Only a few days ago a Japanese government minister stated that the elderly needed to hurry up and die - and get out of the way of the young. The Nazis were avid proponents of purging the "useless eaters" from society. They, and the Belgian gents who chose suicide, are all part of the Culture of Death.

I'm 65 years old and beset with a plethora of maladies. Notwithstanding that, I will never act to shorten my life due to the circumstances in which I find myself.

I believe, given the Regime in power in this nation, that we will see in my remaining lifetime large-scale euthanasia of the elderly, the seriously ill, and those who live on the margins of society - the homeless, the developmentally delayed, and those who are classified as mentally ill.

A Brave New World, isn't it?

Keep Faith with the Fallen of Benghazi! Let the Obama Regime, for once, tell the Truth!

Fiat Justitia, Ruat Coelum!

Genuflectimus non ad principem sed ad Principem Pacis!

Listen, O isles, unto me; and hearken, ye people, from far; The LORD hath called me from the womb; from the bowels of my mother hath he made mention of my name. (Isaiah 49:1 KJV)

Let’s remember that the Belgian socialized medicine system would not have paid for ANY of the complications from blindness and deafness that either of these men could have had under a private insurance plan. Certainly a terrible situation whatever way you look at it.

Slippery slope AND interference with a man’s right to decide on his life based on himself and his God.

A two-fer.

What’s even more disturbing is the Netherlands roving deathmobiles story linked at the bottom. http://worldnews.nbcnews.com/_news/2012/03/01/10556325-netherlands-dispatches-mobile-euthanasia-units
