Whether they are hunters or the hunted, these cunning animals are all masters of disguise who can fool even the most beady-eyed passer by into believing they are not there.

Ah. All those killers wearing beards and niqabs, passing freely among the sheep.

Being a hard core predator and hunter myself I had no trouble spotting my prey.

Great photos! I have seen animals seem to appear like magic right before your eyes. Two that I can remember vividly, a mule deer in a brush thicket in New Mexico and a rattle snake in south Texas. One minute you are seeing the leaves or the ground and the next minute you are seeing something else.

Two-thirds of the way down..."Water good place to hide: A Common Snipe, well hidden in the shoreline vegetation of a Minnesota stream"
Snipe hunting? Sure...think you can fool me?

I grew up running the woods and can almost always spot anything ‘not normal’.
It drives hubby crazy.
I’ll spend 15 minutes trying to get him to see some animal he gets increasingly mad, yelling “WHERE?!?”.
“Right -there-!”
Even worse are dark roads when I spot a glimpse of something a hundred feet off the road and squeal “DEER!” which makes him slam on the brakes.
LOL

Protective coloration and markings are one thing, but that owl looked like it was growing out of the tree like those carved faces the earthy types stick on their trees, lol.

We have a couple of catz that can turn invisibo all the time. One’s a tiger and other’s a calico. You can look right at the couch and not see tiem among the pillows. It’s eerie.

How could I not see a giraffe!?!? I had a friend that went to Africa.
He said giraffes were the most difficult to spot, excellent camouflage.
