Beaver, PA--The Beaver County sheriff told Channel 11's Amy Marcinkiewicz that an armed man was arrested Thursday outside of an area nursing home facility.
According to the sheriff, the man was arrested outside of Friendship Ridge in Beaver. A nurse reported that the man walked into the facility and said something referencing "killing" and then walked out.

Staffer has an ex-boyfriend who’s......(fill in the blank)
What a jerk, scaring all those old beavers like that. He should be ashamed of himself.
perp
It’s always the Albino, isn’t it?
PA? Obviously Amish.
And the guy didn't shoot! Damn it all!
Never let a crisis go to waste!
The story gets a little confusing from there.
The arrested man has a valid carry permit, but no gun has been found, and he says it was at home. His mother is a resident at the home and he was intending to visit her.
The man who is accusing him, one Carl Murray, no age or address given, reported he was walking his dog on Friendship Circle near the Friendship Ridge nursing home at 5 a.m. Nov. 25 when another man walked toward him.
The man stopped and told Murray that he was on his way to work and then pulled out a handgun. He said that if the dog charged him, he would shoot Murray and the pet.
Murray told police that his dog was not being aggressive. The man walked away while pointing the gun.
Murray went home and called Friendship Ridge security, which led to the county sheriffs department and township police being notified.
As police were searching for the suspect at Friendship Ridge, Hicks walked past them in the hall and he matched the description of the suspect given by Murray.
Hicks was found in the main lobby watching television. Friendship Ridge employees said his mother is a patient and he spends all day with her. Murray identified Hicks as the man who pointed a gun at him.
Police searched Hicks, his bag, his mothers room and the surrounding area, but no gun was found. Hicks told police he left his gun at home.
Hicks also told police that he was walking toward Friendship Ridge when he saw two men arguing and one had a dog. Hicks said he simply walked across the street to avoid the situation.
Hey we all need a little Beaver! His method was a little off the mark!
hmm...
This morning I told the lady at wal-mart that my feet were killing me. I also have a .380 in my pocket. I guess I need to be careful what I mutter.
Didn’t know they had nursing homes for beavers.....
So does Hicks have a dog?
I’d also like to point out that sunrise in Beaver, PA today is 7:41am, and this event happened at 5am. So unless there was good street lighting, there is a distinct chance that the dog walker saw a black man, not necessarily the permit holder.
The the alleged man who brandished the gun said he was on the way to work, on foot, it doesn’t sound so hard for the police to do a little bit of work themselves to find out if there is a different black man who works in the area, who starts work in the early morning, who about matches the permit holder’s description.
The total population of Beaver, PA is only 4,531, so this does not sound particularly difficult.
That guy looks like one of Obama’s many many many sons
Wow, lucky beavers to have their own nursing home.
I’ll bet he isn’t an NRA member but he is almost certainly a democrat!
Willie and the Duck Dynasty boys will be filming beaver erradication there next season. All beaver must die.
Hey, that’s some nice reportin’.
Just said in passing that he was “killing time” visiting his cancer stricken mother.
