An O-4 w/ 17 years and his highest award is an ARCOM?!?!
That’s one high-speed, low-drag dude.
I had the same thought...I served 21 years on active duy, and my career was hardly stellar. Still, by the time I reached O-4, I had an MSM w/OLC, an Air Force Commendation w/ 3 OLCs, an Air Force Achievement ‘Medal, a Joint Service Achievement Medal, plus an Air Medal and an Aerial Achievement Medal. Hate to say it, but this Army doesn’t seem to have a lot on the stick. But in today’s finest PC military tradition, he’s arranged a Pentagon tour where his ethnicity can help advance his career. By the time Obama leaves office, this guy will be a below-the-zone selected for full Colonel, with an in-residence slot to a war college and a return to the Pentagon or White House where he’ll get his ticket punched for his first star.
Seems to be a poster boy for the Perfumed Princes, as David Hackworth used to describe them.
My only positive comment: the good Major doesn’t speak for a majority of the military—yet.
