Having been long married and with no ax to grind here, it does seem to me to be true that women of all ages are more intent on marriage than men. The sad fact, which no feminist tergiversations can undo, is that in 2013 there is no benefit to marriage whatsoever for the average self-reliant man. The cold fact is, marriage is an outdated means used by women to hold men down.
For years, the "womens movement" has castigated men for not being as invested in their emotions and in 'relating' as women are, or want men to be. What they are now finding is, they have way overvalued these emotional response channels, and that men are much better suited to single life now than they are.
Feminist chickens coming home to roost.

and that men are much better suited to single life now than they are. Yep, Men hike, hunt, fish, go to the bar with their buddies, bowl, and even play video games and have lots of other fun hobbies
Meanwhile, women go to the mall to buy shoes and throw birthday parties for their pets
I think men are winning this one

While I agree with everything you posted, you get my Golden Phallus Award for using the word "tergiversations" accurately and naturally in a sentence. I haven't actually heard or seen that word used since a teacher long, long ago elaborated the meanings of it and "ratiocination." Somehow, neither crops up very often in today's "text-speak."
Oh yeah, there was one other word's meaning he impressed upon my eager mind: "virago." It seems more than apropos to the context of this thread.

tergiversationsPerfect word use. Excellent, and so truly descriptive of your point.

Feminist chickens coming home to roost. The goal was to destroy the "patriarchy". End result is as intended.
