Sheriff Rhodes points out the hospital staff authorized Jamie’s release to their custody. “She had a medical release from the hospital stating that she was fit for incarceration,” Rhodes said.

Let the ass-covering begin!! Both the hospital and the sheriff's office should be ashamed of themselves and held to account. If the woman is in that much pain, you don't throw her in a cell.

Sorry, Mr Rhodes. Police are first responders and have no business incarcerating a woman showing such an array of symptoms, throwing her into a jail cell and leaving her to bleed out and die. You should have countered the hospital staff with your own judgment and insisted she be transported to another hospital, or at least brought in another doctor. I hope you never forget that an innocent woman who needed help died in your care. Gross stupidity and incompetence on your part.
