If only we could discover what space age technology the cave men used to survive the massive global warming they endured at the end of the ice age.

Time to get busy exterminating the orcs, then.

Tolkien was a very wise man.

Bull Obama, as usual from the “math is not our friend” crowd.

‘Twould seem a bit more probable that we’d choose to live in small underground homes when the global cooling (which is really what is happening) goes into full force.

Well since humans have absolutely no effect on climate change it behooves us to bury since we can't do a damn thing about it!!!

My toes are hairy but I doubt I can freely traverse rough country unshod as yet.

HUMANS will have to become like Hobbits to survive the rapid climate change facing the world,... This is because food is less nutritious in a warmer world which means that species have to eat more

First breakfast, second breakfast, elevenses, luncheon, afternoon tea, dinner, supper.

and last evening I read an article on Slate that said at the current world birthrate, which is “actually delining” that in the next hundred years the world propulation would shrink from current 7 billion people to 1 billion people. A major reason, according to the author, is that the more educated women are, the fewer babies they have. Thus the world is facing a ‘depopulation crsis.’

Sounds like Slate has found the best solution to carbon crisis and global, depopulation means less people using carbon.

"This is because food is less nutritious in a warmer world which means that species have to eat more"

First, the biggest determinant of nutritional value is the quality of the soil, not temperature. Temperature is more related to yield.

Second, if we concede that we're in a warming cycle, I'm sure the northern states and Canada would be happy to add growth capacity to the market. We may get bigger as a result since the land is full of undepleted minerals.

I stopped reading at this point...."This is because food is less nutritious in a warmer world which means that species have to eat more "

It was warmer during the period of the dinosaurs and they were so small, that they died out from being stepped on by Neanderthals.

Err... What?

It is food grown in cold climates that have less nutrition because they do not have time to mature and for the sugars to develop. Ever wonder why sweet foods tend to come from the tropics? Now you know.
