Robert Griffin III couldn't run, at least not in any way resembling his usual sprints through the line and into open turf. Robert Griffin III couldn't throw, at least not the deep darts that move the chains and keep defenses honest.
Robert Griffin III couldn't lead the Washington Redskins' offense, not after his knee buckled in the first quarter of this NFC wild-card game against Seattle. A couple plays later Washington took a two-touchdown lead but the deal was done. It would gain just 41 yards over the next two and a half futile quarters with Griffin as quarterback, all but assuring Seattle's 24-14 victory.

Yeah, Dan Wetzel is a leftwing libtard a-hole. I hate this douche more than that racist Jason Whitlock.
BTW, both RG3 and Shanahan are to blame but i don’t care anyway: I;m a Seahawk fan.
Coaches are paid to make tough decisions. Blame old Mikey cause he is a gutless wonder and really dumb to boot
Kirk cousins, with a 14 pt lead, has a whole lot more options to manage the game than kirk cousins, stepping in down by 10. I agree, cousins should have played from 2nd quarter on...
Both young men are genuine men. We’re very proud of Mr. Wilson. As a Seahawk fan since their inception and former season ticket holder back in the early days, I don’t think the Seahawk’s have ever had a quarterback who has as much talent and a natural leader as Mr. Wilson.
I see the same with Mr. Griffin III. He’s a fine young man with a very promising future regardless of his injury. The wife and I were appalled by the antics of beady eyed Mike Shanahan yesterday. I certainly hope Shanahan makes amends.
I don't care about either team. I watched the game because it was the only game on at the time. I felt Shanahan should have been looking for a reason to not bench RGIII early in the game but am not going to second guess him for failing to send in Kirk Cousins earlier in the game.
RG3 is no Doug Williams,,, this year
Because he is articulate, has no known criminal record nor inclination to develop one, has a serious work ethic and doesn't act like a street punk (whether real or imagined).
In short, they view him as the house nig*er and therefore a Tom.
- he couldn't cut upfield; and
- he couldn't drop back and plant to throw; and
- he couldn't run without a limp
the coaches in the box should have been telling the head coach to pull him in the first quarter, regardless of what RG was telling the trainers and staff
He was barely able to move and Cousins would have had 3 quarters to pick apart Seattle...which would have kept the defense fresh and dominating the way they did through the first quarter
After watching Nick Foles basically take the job away from Vick in Philly, I think Griffin had to be thinking the same thing about Cousins taking his job.
Precisely. I am a Seattle Seahawk fan and they have been playing really well. Sometimes, a team peaks at exactly the right time, and I think Seattle is peaking. I know last year everyone was upset because Seattle got in the playoffs with a losing record; however, this is a different team and they are playing good football.
Shanahan has always been a scumball. He will destroy RG3’s career and make RG out to be the bad guy. I called it when the game started and it was obvious that RG should be recuperating from the injury not starting
Yep. Every player knows that the guy sitting on the bench is just waiting for him to go down.
I am an old man and my knee would not have buckled like RG3’s knee on his last play.
RG3 needs to hit the weight room and turn into a rock like Luck. Very large people try to pull Luck down and he simply does not go down and that is because Luck is bigger than RG3.
RG3 will probably lose some speed and shiftiness with the weight gain but it will be worth it in the long run.
Agree with your premise, disagree with your conclusion.
Agree that his knee buckling is very abnormal.
Disagree that time in the weight room would fundamentally alter that. My guess is that he has blown his ACL (speaking as someone who was been there, done that).
He did no better than Griffin after Seattle made defensive adjustments after the first quarter. The Number 1 defense totally shutdown the Redskin offense.
Seems that all the former players and coaches on ESPN and FOX disagree with you. I wonder why.
What adjustments? Seattle didn’t make any adjustments, we didn’t have a QB...that was Seattle’s adjustment. Seattle ‘won’* the game. Good for them.
Yep. RG3 was not himself. Running is half his game.
