The Democrats don't need to try and win while the Republicans give up every time.
They just call Republicans a name and Presto, they win. I can't recall one single battle victory from the Republican side. Cowards.

You have no power drinking the Republican cool-aide. As long as you are a member they just beg you for money and turn a deaf ear to you. As an Independent they HAVE to do something to garner your vote. It’s not splitting the party, it’s giving the Lame-Stream Republican Idiocracy a wake-up call.

I am more afraid of the GOP-E using our vote to give them the power to destroy my way of life and the future of my grandchildren than I am of a third party keeping Democrats in power.

Then you are incredibly myopic, or actually a Dem if you would prefer to be ruled by them than a GOP-e. There is a difference, you know, if you are honest. Otherwise you are just blind to the reality of who would govern us and the differences between a GOP of any stripe as versus a Dem of any stripe.

No it is making sure conservatism is a permanent minority. Another 40 years of Dem rule guaranteed. Forty more years of wandering in the wilderness.

Typical strategy choreographed by the minority whips to cover those who made promises.

If the republican party wants my vote - they need to represent me.

“The Republican Party is already split. Republicans will never again win the presidency.”

I am afraid you are right. Here in Illinois it’s been that way for years now. The Pubs split their vote, conservative vs. establishment GOP, and then don’t fully back who wins the primary because one half of the Party is always PO’d at the other half, and then we inevitably lose to the Dems in the general election. Happens times after time. A lose/lose situation.

“The Republican Party is dead. The GOP-e has killed it. I am not drinking their lesser-of-two evils, Dem-lite Kool-Aid anymore.”

Fine, then you will be drinking Dem-heavy Kool-Aid for years to come. Just be prepared for the consequences of your actions.

I think the National GOP, and certainly the Senate GOP is figuratively dead to me. However, all of the Republican Georgia Representatives voted against the Senate Bill. We’ll have to see what compromises they vote on.

As for my two Senators, Chambliss and Isakson, I’m going to primary them. I’m going to give their primary opponents as much money as legally possible and work the campaign to defeat them, Chambliss first in 2014. At this point I’d even consider a Zell Milleresque Democrat.

I’ve sent letters, emails and called both. All you get are form letters back with confusing double-talking mumbo jumbo that rides the fence. They both need to be gone. It’s time the Congressional Regions that elected the Republican Congressmen band together and sponsor an opponent against them.

Exactly.

What I would love to see is a single, loud, unified vote push at the mid-terms. The strongest Conservative candidate should be determined and then identified by Sean, Rush, Mark and Mark, Sarah, Jim DeMint, and any other Reaganite Republican or Tea Party supporter that has access to a microphone.

We should do like the rap lables do when they sign a new artist, tag him with a cool new nickname and a big shiny gold necklace.

Any successfully pushed Conservative candidate should then work to hustle the next great candidate up the hill.

I want GOPe candidates branded OUT, Conservatives branded IN, and contenders who are not quite ready or not quite suitable to get in line and help to push. PUSH!

“If the republican party wants my vote - they need to represent me.”

What other party would better represent you. Do you think any of them would agree 100% with you? What party will you join? Libertarian with their legalize all drugs, approval of gay marriage, non-interventialist in foreign affairs philosophy, many pro-abortion advocates? What party would you join that would ever win an election?

For me it was 2008 that I officially went independant, though I still held my nose and voted McCain. I did the same regarding Romney.

The compromise thing is not working for me. I will not do it again.

In my case. I bought a small farm in central KY two weeks before the 2008 election and moved there permanently from my home of 45 years, Seattle, in 2011. It was the right thing to do.

If I still lived in the Seattle area this last election would have been significantly harder to take. Now, meh. I can watch the republic go down from a “relatively” safe distance.

What took so long? I did so in 2007 when Bush and the Republicans were spending like democRATs.

That’s when I did it in spirit. They proved who they were.

A party that believes that gay marriage is wrong, that abortion is wrong and must be abolished, that believes that entitlement spending must be cut, that believes in the constitution as the highest law of the land.

Is there a clause which says that I must vote for the republican party because a minority of their members support things that I believe in?

The party leadership has made it abundantly clear that I am not welcome.

I relocated to Texas. Far happier here than elsewhere.

“The party leadership has made it abundantly clear that I am not welcome.”

You totally ignored my question. What Party would you join that is of your philosophy of governing?
