You’ve never heard this song before? Do you live in a salt mine 10,000 ft. below the surface?
Not all of us are pop culture idiots.
That’s not what I meant. Seriously, If you haven’t heard this song in a bank, gas station, restaurant, store, etc., you’re not paying attention.
A little funny..but honestly..a bit demeaning for such courageous men to be dancing around like sexy women.
But...even I have heard this song. My theory on people who have no idea of this song...or "that" reference: They are the same people who live in such a small bubble that BHO getting re-elected shocked them...and they are the ones who are shocked when this or that happens.
They have no idea what its like out there. Ignorance is truly bliss.
A lot of us don’t pay attention to this stuff
You could say I spend too much time on FR.
I did see a parody of the song on the internet called “Call me Batman”
Here is a video that the marching band at my school did: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eiZTPVcRixQ
There are cheerleaders in the video???
LOL
Some background might be helpful...
The Dolphin Cheerleader’s version of this song is the most viewed video of the hundreds of “Call Me’s” already posted on You Tube.
15.4 million views just on the original, and millions more on copies and spoofs and edited copies.
Almost every young man in America has watched or heard about the Cheerleader’s version.
Trust me - these Afghan troops have just become instant cult heroes.
BTW...
Anyone know what unit this might be?
That was brilliant, and interesting on so many levels.
I am reminded of a conversation I had with a woman I was dating in the late 90s. She had just finished offering some comment about Ricky Martin. I said, “Who’s Ricky Martin?” She immediately launches into a tirade: “OMG! You don’t know who Ricky Martin is? Oprah says that if you don’t know who Ricky Martin is, you just don’t have a life!” I looked at her and said, “Who’s Oprah?”
Bump for later
Knowing all the celebutard gossip is “a life”?
Watching TV substitutes for real life now?
Were those mop heads our fine fighting military troops were using for pom poms? I kinda liked the video. :-)
there’s a fun HEY YA song on youtube done by VAW-116 hawkeye squadron THE SUN KINGS.
I love this!!!!! Thank you for posting - I don’t know how I missed it.
Excellent observation. I noticed a long time ago that there are a lot of posters on this forum like that.
They proudly proclaim that they haven't watched television or seen a movie since the 1970s (or 80s, or the last 15 yrs, whatever).
