The Repbulican are furious with the horrible speech by Obama!! Obama has taken us over the cliff with his arrogant and demanding words in todays speech!!
He is playing chicken and he is arrogant. I heard that the big O will propose tax cuts later and "take credit" for cutting taxes. Good! When he proposes a token tax cut, gouge the S.O.Ann with a huge tax cut bill. Grandstand to the point of grinding the narrative in his face the they were right all along - tax cuts spurs economic growth.
On the other side, people are going to get hurt between the tax increases and Obamacare. Oh well, the majority voted for the imbicile.
Hate to sound skeptical but this is all a show for us little people. The republicans are after as big a government as BO...
So true.
Would not put it past our Liberal RINO GOP to pass this bill at 12:01 AM just to say they “kept their promise to not vote on it today”
And don’t increase the debt limit either...Obama is maxed out on his credit cards.
Did I hear you right? Did you say Grumblehumper?
All for show.
Something will be passed by midnight.
” Most people know Washington is too big and spends too much. NO ONE wants higher taxes on themselves.”
Right. That’s why Romney won the election.
Going over the cliff is going to bite the GOP in the ass.
Obama will now get everything he wants and the GOP won’t be able to withstand being seen as obstructionists.
Sadly, there’s a new wind blowing in America and Obama seems to get the direction t’s blowing.
So if he was nice, they would cave. Thank God Obama is so arrogant. Give the Republicans a chance to regroup and demand cuts in spending. Id rather go over the cliff now, instead of later.
Interesting observation.

By new wind do you mean "what's mine is mine and what's yours is mine because there are more of us than people like you?"
Indeed, FDR was not shot. There was an attempted assassination, but the shooter hit the mayor of Chicago, instead. Saw it on “The Untouchables”!
“By new wind do you mean “what’s mine is mine and what’s yours is mine because there are more of us than people like you?” “
I mean that a majority voted for higher taxes on the top earners.
Like it or not, accept it or not, it’s a fact. All going over the cliff does is let Obama jack up taxes with no reason to address spending cuts. Other than the cuts to the military that is.
I expect Obama will now propose a middle class tax cut. what can the GOP do besides pass it.
IMHO the GOP just gave the Dems a free shot.
Yep. He created the committee that came up with the fiscal cliff. They voted for him anyway or didn't bother to vote at all. He's in charge. He's the leader. This economy and cliff is his baby - his legacy. Give it to him - right between the eyes.
The guy is a tool, just ignore him.
Shove it down Soetore’s throat and kick his ass. It’s time to put the political boot to the throat of this a-hole thug. Shut the gov’t down and recess for two months. No one will miss it.
My definition of “doing a number” on someone centers on the infliction of some degree of damage. Given that, I would suggest that Obama did a number on the establishment Republicans—With their full help and cooperation, I might add. The TEA Party, by contrast, remains strong and resolute, at least from my perspective. Who cares if Boner and his butt-boys don’t like them?
No disagreement that in some quarters, locally, the TEA Party is doing well. What the media and Barry did was successfully remove TEA Party congressmen from meaningful leadership in the House. This got us NOWHERE on a national level.
I think the House leadership/GOP-e, to their eternal discredit, blunted the effectiveness of the TEA Partiers while the Democrats just sat back and watched. It seems to have escaped the “leaderships” notice that, were it not for the 2010 TEA Party sweep, they would still be in the minority. (Of course, Boner and company may actually prefer sucking hind tit—No hard decision making or heavy lifting.)
It is time the servants fear the masters.
This was a similar game the Dems played a while back - they were “stuck” with conservative Democrats, grudgingly took them in to get the numbers up, then stuck it to their own. I think Newt took advantage of thet to get 4 balanced budgets and surpluses that Billy-Jeff took credit for. I think the same happened here - the GOP-e grudgingly took the “win” thinking they would have compliant little freshman - and when they didn’t play ball - then they were on the outs..... This makes me sick - and yearning for a 3rd party (conservative) alternative.
Me too, my friend; me too.
