“It’s called Brett Favre Syndrome”

Inaptly, as he won a Superbowl, got close in another one, and won several playoff games. Also, he gets blamed much for what was not his fault. For instance, the Vikings lost in 09 because of a twelve men on the field penalty and not stopping the Saints after losing the overtime coin toss, NOT because of his interception, which was all the idiot talking heads could remember.

Oh wow, no. He gets blamed for what is exactly his fault. The Vikings lost because Favre threw a stupid, needless interception at the end of the game, a phrase that could be a headline for his whole career.

He is the game's most overrated athlete.

He won a Super Bowl because he was surrounded by a top notch team and excellent coaching. It's a miracle he didn't blow that game as well. After a decade of seeing their team dragged down by him, the Packers finally were able to be rid of him and won a Super Bowl the very next year with a real quarterback. Why people were obsessed with a careless, interception prone media favorite, I'll never understand. He was the Obama of NFL quarterbacks.
