If you visit Moscow, try to get passes to visit the Kremlin museum and the Diamond Fund within it. They have specific visiting times and there was a small fee as I remember. The displays include dresses, imperial crowns and diamond-studded coaches and they are breathtaking.
Do not lean too close to the coaches which are displayed in the open: there are proximity sensors and if they go off, camouflage-uniformed interior police come bounding out of doorways armed to the teeth. Trust me on this one!
