Marcella, I always dreamed of retiring on a Tropical Caribbean Island, but I believe the U.S. Virgin Islands are the only place down there where they drive on the “proper” side of the road. Maybe the Dominican Republic as well.
I can’t imagine getting in the passenger side of a car and having a steering wheel in front of me. Worse yet, I like Manual Shift cars. God didn’t intend for us to use our left hand to change gears. Well, maybe if the car was Muslim, but that’s a different subject altogether.
My Politics match my driving habits, Right is Right.
I hope you had a wonderful Christmas and a let’s pray for a Happier New Year.
In England, when you want to take a driver's test, no matter your age, you have to take a class before you can take the driver's test. The test is very difficult.
My son is a director of documentary films, and after 30 yrs. in London, he's coming back here. He is with me now and took a Texas driver test this past Thursday. It lasted 20 minutes and at least 5 of that was the guy checking the car to see it all worked right.
The test was easy and the son had no problems with it during that 15 minute actual driving test. Afterward, the driver test guy asked the son how the driver's test in England differed from ours. The son told him how much more difficult that test was.
I've enjoyed him being here and he goes back Jan. 6. Then, will go to Florida next April and start making a film here. That may be his final move here, not going back to England. He is really looking forward to living in his home country again.
Due to the fact England and the rest of the world is in the toilet, at least he will be here if this country also goes down the toilet. Better to be here than there.
