The 10mb+ size knarf reported got me thinking about YT, because they used to (how many years ago) have a 10MB limit.

Digital cameras tend to produce massively large videos and pix.

Dump them from your camera to your computer and resize them.

There are numerous (many free) video and pix resizing programs.

[political pics they didn’t agree with...]

Recently I have found that to be true of photobucket. I need to switch to somewhere else to post my Photoshops.

I have crappy CommieCast too (have to have its CATV to get cable Modem) with its 10mb limit. For $154/mo (combined CATV & CM), there shouldn't be any limit. Years ago, there was no CC limit; now it's 10mb. I've never uploaded videos to YT, because I don't have a vid camera.

My ancient 2006 Nokia 6060 "Clamshell" cellphone has squat vid options, but I noticed the YT Acct options, and they're not bad, in comparison to CC's draconian rules. There's a lot of YT stuff up there much bigger than 10mb.

I also have an ancient 2002 Kodak Easy-Share DX3900 Digital Camera, and it still works fine.

AVS Video Converter is a great program.

It’s not free, but it’s worth every cent.

You might want to consider opening a Dropbox account. It’s free and you get 2 GB storage. It’s in the cloud. I use it frequently. All you have to do is upload your file(s) to the Public directory and then you can send a link via email to whomever you want. They can then download your file to their PC or Smartphone, etc.

Like I posted before.. Tinypic usually doesn’t have (show) a bias .. only setback is that you have to type in a ‘Captcha Code’ .. but well worth it..

Most of the political pics I uploaded there 1-3 years ago are still there ;)

I know you said Free, but if you are wanting a site to share pics, video, and news with relatives in a non-public forum(briefly had a facebook acct. but closed it...no thanks), you can check out myfamily.com.
It costs $30/year. We have used it for both of our families and relatives for 12 years now and like it. It will convert large pics to viewable size for viewing on the site. No fuss, no muss. Also has calenders, news sharing, etc.
