SAN ANTONIO - Texas suspended two football players Friday and sent them home on the eve of the Alamo Bowl, hours after police said they were investigating a report of a sexual assault at a San Antonio hotel.
Coach Mack Brown did not identify the players, but he referred to a KENS-TV report that police were investigating two Texas players in the alleged assault.

They were turning their lives around.
Holder's peeps?
...and if Barak Hussein had any sons they would like these?
Wow, pretty detailed.
Quarterback Case McCoy and linebacker Jordan Hicks were the two University of Texas players sent home for breaking team rules Friday after police in San Antonio confirmed that they were investigating an allegation that two men were involved in a sexual assault at a hotel, sources told KXAN

You’re still the fastest of them all Liberty
I know we're not supposed to "blame the victim", but what was she expecting when she invited two college guys to her hotel room at 2am?
An Oregon State fan hoping to ensure Texas loses?
Ha! Yea, but the guy that shot me was the bravest ;o)
What were two college football players doing carousing at 2:00 AM just days prior to their bowl game appearance.
Whether or not they are guilty, they were stupid to put themselves in a position to be accused.
They embarrassed their parents, university, teammates and themselves.
Who was favored to win this game? Seen this before plenty of times...mostly college sports, but seen it happen in the pros as well. High stakes gamblers take no chances and the easiest way to disable a team is to set up and falsely charge at least two valuable players with rape.
This is what happened to the Duke lacrosse players but they had a wild hair of an idiot, political prosecutor out to do serious damage and he blew it out of control.
I have often wondered why no one ever checks out the gambling angle in ANY of these cases. And there are plenty.
Before the Cotton Bowl in 2000, Brown suspended four players for unspecified rule violations. Two of the players -- defensive lineman Aaron Humphrey, wide receiver Kwame Cavil -- were key starters.
Texas went on to lose to Arkansas 27-6.
Before the Sugar Bowl after the 1995 season it was learned that one of the Texas players had been a former college player whose eligibility had run out years before. The player was 30-year-old Ron Weaver, who had played at Sacramento State in the 1980s. But he had passed himself off as 23-year-old Ron McKelvey.
Texas lost the Sugar Bowl game to Virginia Tech 28-10."
Oregon State is a 3 point favorite in the game.
Police said they observed bruises on the woman’s right knee and left bicep.
These guys have been taught their entire lives that women worship jocks. They allowed their cognitive abilities to whither in favor of athleticism.
Athelticism is fine for a child, soldier, or cop but it has little use in the modern world otherwise.
If they had spent even the smallest amount of time developing their minds instead of their muscles maybe they would not be caught up in this situation.
..........I imagine they were sent home due to violating team rules by being out so late.
On the other hand, I suppose we will have to wait until the facts come out but what happens to this female if this proves to be bs!
I went to Texas, I am a pure Longhorn fan but I can tell all that this incident will stick to these guys like glue around Austin and Texas for decades to come no matter what happens. You don’t get an “aw shucks” around Texas for sullying the Longhorn Football program. That deed is remembered for decades. I’m curious about what Colt will say or do to his brother.
I was a jock and my parents and coaches taught me better.
I totally agree PapaBear.. AND after meeting them in a bar where ALL had been drinking. Rape is totally wrong no matter what but sometimes the situation one puts themselves in....well, anything can happen and 9 times outta 10, it usually does.
The news story buried the lede. The REAL story here is this:
“A major college football program actually took decisive action against two of its players accused of wrongdoing or rules violations despite the team being a day away from competing in a major bowl game.”
In an era whree so many universities are little more than life support for a football or basketblal program, this gives hope that someone finally got their priorities straight and “the program” is actually coming after the right thing to do.
This is rare, it’s been a long itme coming, and I have a lot more respect for that program for having read this story.
Perhaps if major programs start really disciplining their athletes and holding them to the same standards of behavior (or—the unthinkable—a HIGHER standard) than students whoaren’t getting a free college educaiton in exchange for their abilty to throw, kick or catch a ball; student athletes will be exposed to the absurd notion that the rules do, actually, apply to them.
Could this have been a setup? Actually, very possibly so. But if they weren’t supposed to be out at that time, they asked for trouble and got it.
Way to go, Longhorns!
