HOUSTON (AP) -- A 22-year-old Houston-area man shot by robbers who wanted his new Air Jordan tennis shoes has died of his wounds. The Houston Chronicle reports (http://bit.ly/WRDIBm ) Wednesday that Joshua Wood died at Houston Northwest Hospital. Authorities say no arrests have been made. The Harris County Sheriff's Office says Wood was shot Friday as he tried to escape armed robbers who wanted the newly released Air Jordan XI "Bred" sneakers he had purchased earlier in the day. The shoes retail for about $185.

We used to have shoe riots here in Indy, but they went to a system where you have to pick up a ticket in advance (days in advance) to purchase the shoes. And they only offer as many tix as there is merchandise.
Seems to work ok, but it does p!ss me off knowing that most of these youts buying $200 shoes are also on medicaid, ebt, section 8, obamaphones, etc.
If his foot size was very large these would then be ‘high capacity’ Air Jordans. Scary looking!

Neither have I. At the time that became a fad, I was still young enough to have fallen for it, but I was offended at the idea that some company would charge me good money for a shirt, then plaster their logo all over it, expecting me to conduct free advertising for them.
