I see the lead guy has his gun sideways, he’s extra cool.

It is very disheartening to see the number of answers to these pictures being “Cop”. We have young men and women overseas in horrible places armed and outfitted with the best that our military can give them to fight the evil.

I then see the same damned thing worn and used by our “LEOs” to be used, not against terrorists, non-combatants and foreign armies, but largely against sole or a few American citizens.

I see this and I think of Waco, I think of Ruby Ridge, I think of the same kinds of standoffs to come; and the results that go with. It is a truly sad thing to see this Christmas Eve day.

Its important to also note the military people have tighter ROEs then the cops.

Why in the name of all that is logical are these buffoons wearing old style woodland camo on a mission to forcibly enter a suburban dwelling? Exactly how do they think that will help them blend in with their surroundings?

Here in Atlanta a Red Dog squad (IIRC) burst a very old lady’s house and killed her straight up when she raised pistol having not previously heard the customary “police” notification (IIRC, there was none because it was a no-knock drug raid).

All this for a supposedly mistaken address on a raid they were later to have revealed came from a criminal informant, whose participants were later imprisoned for lying and falsifying documentation.

Unfortunately, there’s parts of this country that are just as dangerous as Afghanistan and I would want the same gear. I get the point though, because it will be abused.

There’s a difference between a law-abiding private citizen owning said gear and a government employee drunk on power owning the same gear.

I can understand your comment, although I don’t quite agree to the severity of ‘some of these parts’

It is known that the cult leader, David Koresh, went to town regularly, yet the ATF inexplicably decided to make a full-on rush against the compound to get him for weapons violations. Likewise, Randy Weaver (Ruby Ridge) was incriminated by a plant for shortening off a shotgun, and the resulting raid ensued. The point of this is that there is too much cowboy and not enough down-home police work that actually tries to minimize the carnage.

To my mind, a hometown cop can do more with just a plain of S&W six-shot revolver than a whole company of urban SWAT wannabe soldiers driven by bravado and publicity - and just lookin’ too cool.

He’s extra, extra cool because he has his baseball cap on backwards underneath his play helmet.

Don’t you know it’s most important to have “teh extra coolness”?

16 out of 21 ... and the ones I got wrong were tough... the biggest giveaways are age (cops=older) , helmets (cops=non-camo) and equipment (APC’s , Helo’s) too clean=cops ...

This is some scary sh*t ...

All I can really say about that picture is “just damn!”

Guy #1 looks like an imbecile, Guy #2 is ready to blast the hell out of the door header, and Guy #3 is ready to shoot Guy #2 (Lurch) in the back....Guy#4 is ready to blast the shoulder of Guy #3 after he backshoots Guy #2....

The only one who seems to have anything going on is the one off to the side and watching the three stooges.

Unfortunately, these stooges are also likely to shoot an innocent party.

The dog.

The baby.

The kid.

The cat. (Okay, maybe the cat isn’t so innocent....)

I find it rather interesting that for 150 years American citizens were better armed than the Army or police, yet they never complained about being “outgunned”.

Speaking of Waco. A few years earlier, the McClennan county sheriffs department arrested Davis Koresh on a homicide charge. Two men, in sport jackets knocking on the door. Even though he was facing a murder charge in Texas, he went peacefully.

Back then, too, police were less inclined to try to intimidate and harass the citizenry.

Being “outgunned” is a problem if you wish to bully, harass, or victimize law-abiding citizens.
