David Gregory is not above the law; he is a journalist, and must be held accountable to the same law as every other person.
DC High Capacity Ammunition Magazines D.C. Official Code 7-2506.01
(b) No person in the District shall possess, sell, or transfer any large capacity ammunition feeding device regardless of whether the device is attached to a firearm. For the purposes of this subsection, the term large capacity ammunition feeding device means a magazine, belt, drum, feed strip, or similar device that has a capacity of, or that can be readily restored or converted to accept, more than 10 rounds of ammunition.
We The People demand that he be formally charged for violation of this law on "Meet The Press."

Because it the baby steps that finally get them where they want to be. Total control!
Guess I missed what happened, but it doesn’t matter, all it takes is 1 Person to Formally Make A CITOZENS ARREST, The Police are REQUIRED BY LAW TO ACT ON IT and MAKE THE ARREST if there is Probable Cause or a REASONABLE SUSPICION a Crime has been committed, the DA is NOT REQUIRED to prosecute or even bring charges.
I am telling you that signing a WH.gov petition is meaningless compared to the internet footprint you already have. Signing the petition tells them almost nothing about you. I am telling you that you can’t make the water in a swimming pool more wet by pouring a glass of water in it.
Now you’re being silly. What is the upside in signing a petition at whitehouse.gov?
That is non-sequitur to what we've been discussing.
No, you’ve told me that the government has gathered info on me, probably true, but you have not explained why I shouldn’t be concerned about adding my name to a petition at whitehouse.gov.
There are many ways of reducing your internet footprint. First thing is selectively limiting cookies allowed into your computer using your browser options. Next, you can stop web bugs and other invasive web page spyware artifacts using the hosts file on your computer (a bonus is that this can also stop virtually all third party advertisements).
Anyway, I'm having a hard time imagining the Federal trial where their most important evidence against you is that you wanted David Gregory (punk) arrested and signed a petition saying so. LOL
But none of that will do anything at all to erase 12 years of posting on FR without any of those protections. And nothing at all will protect you if JR is served with a warrant for personal info on a given account. :-)
This is getting tedious. I had one question. Why would I, or anyone, sign a petition at Obama’s website?
We’re done, you’re boring me.

Really? I don't see any question like that at all in your first post.
To: Red in Blue PAThe White House must be loving this.
Sign a stupid petition at the website and let them collect your ISP.Stupid!
I agree about the encryption. Not sure why you would have your OS on a flash drive if it is already secure, except for backup.
Another important aspect of securing your computer is to NEVER download browser toolbars. They literally infect your whole OS and constantly transmit info to Google or whose-ever toolbar you download.
For example, a recent Flash update automatically downloaded Google toolbar onto my OS without asking for my consent or notifying me. I opened the networking task manager and it was a steady stream of information being sent out - I had to turn off my internet connection until I removed it from my OS. It literally took half an hour for me to remove everything it placed throughout my OS using Revo Uninstaller and Registry Healer. What a bunch of pricks...
(Incidentally, Google and the Obama administration are tight, so expect your info to be going to the government.)
It also has a feature that scrambles everything on RAM when you shut down. Normally everything on RAM disappears anyway after a few minutes but in those minutes there is a trace electrical imprint of what you were doing.
If someone wanted to stop it from disappearing and recover the data they could literally freeze the RAM and recover the data in a lab. As Incognito shuts down it overwrites everything in RAM with utter gobbeldygook.
OK. I guess if you have a computer that other people can access that you would rather not I can see the benefit of an external OS and RAM scrambler. I don’t have that problem, so onboard encryption and backup to external flash drives is good enough for me.
To help tweek your Windows OS to better security I recommend utilizing the many free utilities at Gibson Research (http://www.grc.com/default.htm), especially Shoot The Messenger, UnPlug n’ Pray and ShieldsUP! Also, get to know your Windows Services Utility and turn off anything you don’t need.
Incidentally, a Windows OS can be tweeked into security without knowing any code. I use XP Pro with about a thousand tweeks and Registry edits. I haven’t used any anti-spyware, antivirus, or software firewalls for years and never get spyware or viruses or hacked. I found it all with Google searches, and I would not classify myself as a geek.
Thanks for the links. I already installed Revo Uninstaller after your mention of it. I have never done anything extraordinary in terms of computer protection, other than basic anti-virus and malware software, but I have never had a virus on any of my computers. It’s always good to learn more and play safer though. Thanks again!
You’re welcome. Another benefit of good security tweeking is that your computer runs at maximum efficiency when everything that bogs it down is turned off. However, tweeking is time consuming. I started with a basic OS install and Acronis True Image. I diary every tweek and do a snapshot backup before every change, so if there are deleterious effects I can back out of it without having to undo any damage. If I were asked what the single best tweek is, I would say optimizing your hosts file. It keeps most of the internet trash out and actually speeds up uploads and downloads - especially sites with lots of junk on them. You can also add your own addresses of annoying ads that get through, to keep them out permanently.
You can find out how to do it here: http://someonewhocares.org/hosts/zero/
