The Jets didn’t do the Wildcat correctly. Sanchez wasn’t the best fit for that offense and when Jets put in Tebow to run a Wildcat play, I mean, that’s too obvious and defense quickly anticipated to which plays Tebow is going to run.
Which isn’t that different from how Sparano ran it in Miami. Everybody always knew when they were wildcatting because Brown or Williams lined up in the QB spot. Of course eventually Sparano got fired because the wildcat isn’t that cool, especially when you personnel selection telegraphs it. But that’s the path they chose in the off season, and then didn’t do much with it during the season.
