After 27 people were slaughtered at the Sandy Hook Elementary School, the liberal left ramped up their pro-gun control crusade, even blaming the atrocity on the lack of strict gun laws in America.
Liberals claim that if guns were outright illegal to own, six people wouldn’t have been killed at a Safeway in Tucson, Arizona last year, nor 12 people in Aurora, Colorado in July. What they fail to realize most is that criminals don’t follow laws they don't want to; that’s why they’re criminals in the first place.
The left asserts that there needs to be a "national discussion" about gun control. They argue that Congress and President Obama are afraid to stand up to the National Riffle Association (NRA). Liberals act as if a debate over stricter gun laws has never taken place before. It has. It's been ongoing, and the left continues to lose it. It revives old arguments as if they were new every time a tragic shooting occurs, pretending that no one has considered the possibility of gun control ever before.

There will always be bad guys with guns.
Good guys need guns with which to defend themselves from bad guys.

The ONLY way that TOTAL gun control works is if you can confiscate ALL of the guns [doable] AND prevent future smuggling of guns. UNFORTUNATELY, there is NO WAY that you can prevent the smuggling of guns.
So, even with gun control, criminals and crazies are going to have them. And, from time to time, unarmed law-abiding people are going to get killed.
Therefore, the point is moot ...
The ONLY way to MINIMIZE the damage is to have ARMED security in place at all times. It WILL NOT prevent periodic killings, but it WILL discourage gun toters MOST of the time.
And, when someone does start shooting, there is security there to return fire. And, HOPEFULLY, take the shooter out quickly ...
Let’s review:
Guns have been prevelant in the U.S. for roughly 240 years.
Violent video games have been prevelant for about 20-25 years.
Mass killings of this type have been on the rise for 20-25 years........
Doesn’t take a reject from NASA to break that code.
Why is THIS not the point driven home at every opportunity?
Every time a crime is committed with a gun, liberals try to take them away from people who responsibly own and use them.
When drunk driving was such an epidemic 25 odd years ago, I don’t recall the liberal hordes demanding banning the automobile. We simply increased the penalties and enforced the laws.

P.C. has infected the American psyche so deeply that we no longer fund, or believe, in mental institutions. So the paranoid, schizophrenic and bi-polar have turned society into one big mental institution. Restraints are ‘inhuman’, so are padded rooms and lobotomys and anything that makes the mentally defective feel...defective. So in the name of ‘it’s all good’, and treat them normal and they will be normal, we have hideous events like this. Because people can’t,or refuse, to face the reality of their little darlings being mentally deranged and dangerous,they insist on inflicting them on normal society.
Locally, a 15 year old boy who had been in a mental hospital most of his life, jumped from a van that was transporting him to an appointment- into interstate traffic and was killed by a truck. A van- not a secure vehicle-a van driven by a woman with a female nurse; who he attacked and overwhelmed. Had there been ‘inhumane’ restraints on him or the vehicle doors, he wouldn’t be dead. But you can’t treat crazy people like they’re crazy, so their P.C. consideration got a nurse hurt and him dead.
Mental hospitals and institutions are being defunded and closed because it’s not nice to consider people defective in any way. Naive people are being paid to take patients from institutions into their homes to ‘normalize’ them. States are ‘saving’ money this way, and individuals and psychiatrists are being paid to integrate the mentally ill into towns and neighborhoods.
This mother- knowing her son had mental problems, shouldn’t have had firearms where he could get them. She paid the price for her denial , but so did all those innocent children and teachers.
All because society refuses to acknowledge the existence of dangerous mental illness and EVIL.
Her guns never killed anyone until her insane, EVIL, spawn used them.
I’m sick of this refusing to face reality so blame the inanimate object BS! Murder starts in the mind-in this case a diseased AND evil one, it ends in the hands of a human being. THINGS are incapable of independent action.
Actually Mass killings are on the decline. The 2000’s have seen a 50 % decrease from the 90’s. Mass killings rose from the 60’s through the 90’s (where they peaked). It is simply the media and the agenda which make it seem as if we are facing an epidemic. We are not.
While every innocent life lost is a tragedy, the truth is we have about 12,000 gun deaths per year, 80 % of which are gang related (criminals breaking the law killing other criminals.) So the true number of gun deaths per year is really about 2400. Hardly an epidemic. Definitely not worth shredding the Bill of Rights and rendering a hundred million law abiding people defenseless.

Don’t forget the violence in movies has increased dramatically in the past 20-25 years.
Governmental gun control would not have stopped it, but his mother who knew her son has mental issues could have prevented it, if she would have secured her weapons and not provided her deranged son access to her weapons.
I seem to recall that it wasn’t done with an actual gas can but rather one or two one gallon plastic milk bottles.

Thank you! Following the logic of ‘blame the weapon’ I imagine we can anticipate the following:
Ban-knives of all kinds and all sharp objects such as pens, chopsticks, icepicks etc. They can be used to kill by stabbing.
Ban-All heavy blunt intruments-hammers,bricks,irons,bowling balls,weights-they can be used to kill by blunt force.
Ban-All household chemicals, anything that can kill by poisoning.
Ban- Cars-Millions die in accidents in them, are hit by them, or die when they are used in drive-by shootings.
Ban-Any possessions that can be stolen and sold to obtain any of the above deadly items.
Ban-Hands- the one common factor in all crimes involving guns and all other tools that can kill. Hands strangle, hands beat, hands hold under water to drown.
And when all of this is banned- remember, even with no hands or weapons( or clothes) bat-sh*t crazy people can bite your face off like the lunatic did the man in Florida this summer.
Ban teeth.
And you will still have crazy evil, handless, toothless people who will hate enough to push you, bodily, into traffic or off buildings.
Ban human evil. A world full of inanimate objects, like guns, will never rise up to kill anyone.
