I already own 2 AR15s, an Uzi and an Armalite AR10 so this is nothing more than a big FU to the liberals really. I'm leaning towards a bushmaster varminter. any other suggestions.
Windham makes a varminter also. Far superior to the Bushmaster.
“Whats an assault rifle?”
There is no such things...people assault, not inanimate objects...this includes rifles, cars, knives, baseball bats, etc...
It sounds like you have a pretty balanced set already, so I would actually suggest moving to a rifle that is even more unsettling to liberals, a .50 cal with a good scope and even a night vision scope.
However, quality is pretty expensive. For example, an ArmaLite AR-50 50 BMG Rifle is around $3,500, and is on the low side as prices go.

I soooo want to get a M1A SOCOM...beautiful rifle.
They come in all sizes. Get the one that fits you. ;o)
The guy at the range told me I could get something called xxxx-glass (I can’t remember the first part of it) and spread it around the inside of the foregrip...it dissipates the heat.
I might modernize it with synthetics.
at this point, an assault rifle is a firearm designed specifically to make liberal’s head’s explode... figuratively speaking of course.
Save your coins and get one. You will not be disappointed.
Love my WASR10. Wife loves my WASR10. Daughter loves my WASR10. Son-in-law loves my WASR10.
Arsenal, the FIME Group,...
Double up on left side hearing protection.
Go cheaper and get one or more 22LR rifles like the S&W 1522 (25 rd mag) or the Colt version (30 rd mag). Cheap to shoot and learn, and what many expert and experienced shooters will agree had beneficial utility in many ways as the more expensive rifles. You could get both for a kilobuck, adn of course, the ammo is super cheap and plentiful (in contrast with, e.g., 308/7.62 NATO).
here’s my only issue with AK-47s: they were born to be fully automatic and the ones we can get aren’t. So your stuck with a one shot one kill weapon that isn’t known for being super accurate. this versus the AR15 which is known to be a sub moa tack driver with the right set up. To put it in perspective, I have shot an AR15 that would shoot hole for hole at 100 yards. whatever spot your crosshairs landed on got a bullet hole in it at 100 yards without any noticeable deviation. If your cross hairs landed on a fly that happened to land on your target, that fly would be shot dead. that’s the name of the game. imho.
Look into a milled receiver AK. There’s some tuning that can be done if you like tweaking guns. Upper and lower handguards greatly affect barrel harmonics. SLR-101s has a side rail. Don’t know how you’ve mounted optics.
“FU liberals” is right RC!!!! I already own quite a few AR platform types but never the less last week I ordered another one. (Won’t arrive until 2/2013 at the earliest). This one is the Sig Sauer Gen. 2 516 gas piston 5.56 FDE 16” Patrol. Once again, an EOHtech EXPS3-0 for optics will sit up top behind an EOHtech G33 3X ‘flip/switch to side’ mounted magnifier. (This has been a great combo for me in the past, any other FReepers have any other maker/model favorites for an optic/magnifier combo?). Good luck on what you decide on but give the Sig Sauer AR’s a look.
That is a very good price for a NIB Sig 556!!
Yes it is considering, I paid $1300 for mine which at the time I thought was a pretty good price.
Thanks for the heads up about Cabelas PJ. Maybe I should have checked there before my last/most recent buy. (See my post#76 this thread). I sure will next time. I used Gunbroker.com’s prices as sort of a benchmark to start my search like I always do but my local Gun Shop was about the same to GB’s regarding pricing, in the 516’s FDE finish, so I went with my local shop. (I have used Gunbroker.com 4 or 5 times with no problems in the past fwiw). My new Sig 516 had to be ordered and went for $1731.00. I can’t wait to get it and ‘dress’ it up with a few goodies!
