Word For The Day, Wednesday, 12-12-12 -- numerology
In order that we might all raise the level of discourse and expand our language abilities, here is the daily post of "Word for the Day".
numerology [noo-muh-rol-uh-jee]
noun:
the study of numbers, such as the figures in a birth date, and of their supposed influence on human affairs
Etymology: Origin: 1911, "study of the occult meaning of numbers," a hybrid from L. numerus "number" + Gk. -logia, from logos "one who speaks (of a certain topic)." A correct formation would be arithmology, from Gk. arithmos "number."

Not to be confused with number theory.
Numerology is any study of the purported divine, mystical or other special relationship between a number and some coinciding observed (or perceived) events. It has many systems and traditions and beliefs. Numerology and numerological divination by systems such as isopsephy were popular among early mathematicians, such as Pythagoras, but are no longer considered part of mathematics and are regarded as pseudomathematics or pseudoscience by modern scientists
Today, numerology is often associated with the paranormal, alongside astrology and similar divinatory art.
that sounds great. what is the emeril’s essence stuff? can you get it at the groc store?

Liberals always make the mistake of using static, rather than dynamic analysis. That is, they don’t input the change in behavior that a given tax or regualtion will cause.
If a bridge toll of a dollar brings in a million bucks a year, democrats assume that a toll of ten dollars would bring in 10 million bucks. They don’t consider that people might drive a few extra miles to avoid the toll, or stay home altogether.
Despite the fact that they themselves change their own behavior to avoid the consequences of their tax and regulatory changes.
It is odd that, despite the dumberology in Washington and ABCNNBCBS, there is still less inflation than I expected from Obama’s printing presses the past four years.....
We’ve got inflation - much, much more than publicized ... but still not what it “should” based on “how much money have been printed”/”how much goods and services have been created.”
Maybe I’m silly, but I brought fresh sage and cedar from the woods to smudge with, lighted special blessed candles and I’m burning incense...
Perhaps the endtimes are foretold
In arcane myth and numerology
But if that seems so crazy,
Well, consider the psychology-
To say it just mass hysteria
Is to ignore an opening door-
Even a stock-predicting computer
Came up with something more
If it all goes boom as predicted
When 12-21-12 comes around
I’ll await my fate right here,
Praying and gone to ground..m
That’s cause all the evil banks and corporations are hoarding all that cash instead of spending it.
Your recipes gave me a good idea-later on, I’m going to mix up and bake 3-4 loaves of wholewheat bread for sharing or barter-I’ve got stoneground wholewheat flour to use-yum...

Good poem.
I just googled that FireHouse Chicken Lasagna, it was easy to find.
Buffalo Chicken Dip
4 cooked chicken breasts cut in cubes
In skillet cook until smooth:
10 oz. cream cheese
8 oz. bottle Ranch dressing
1 - 10 oz bottle of (Franks) Chicken Wing sauce
Chopped celery to your liking.
Add chicken and simmer for 10 minutes.
Put in 9/13 inch pan and top with as much Monteray Jack Cheese as you desire, thick or thin, and bake for 20 minutes at 350°
My brothers say it’s better if you bother to use butter so the batter won’t be bitter when you barter.
Once again, Kitty boy fools the odds-as I began putting out catfood, he climbed out of his basket, went to the litter box and back, ate a few bites, got a drink of water and is lying in the sun by the French doors asleep. He purred and yawned when I petted him, and seems happy, if terribly weak. He always had done things his own way...
Thank you! Never heard it put like that, but yes, I do use real butter in my bread dough.
Funny that you would mention that: I bought Christmassy kitchen towels and am baking a loaf of bread for my neighbors and will wrap in their towels.
I love that dip recipe and saved it last year from you!
Last night on Fox I saw a video of the union thugs in Michigan kicking down the tent with people in it and punching/roughing that reporter. They were yelling f*** you at anyone who questioned them, too. Admittedly, I’m hardly one to blush at four letter words, but using them like that isn’t my idea of civility, never mind beating up reporters.
The whole union protest thing angers and disgusts me-but as long as I can remember, unions have had a less than sterling reputation and mob connections were a given...
What a neat idea!
the unions, with the help of the main stream media, are claiming the conservatives knocked down their own tent..... seriously. I guess Crowder beat himself up too.
