Word For The Day, December 11, 2012
In order that we might all raise the level of discourse and expand our language abilities, here is the daily post of "Word for the Day".
nefarious [ni-fair-ee-uh s]
-adj
extremely wicked or villainous; iniquitous
[15951605; < Latin nefārius wicked, vile, equivalent to nefās offense against divine or moral law ( ne- negative prefix + fās law, right) + -ius -ious, with intervocalic s > r]
Probably not a good idea that Obama opened his mouth on Michigan’s right-to-work issues-I saw that the union thugs have become profane and violent, even attacking reporters. He needs to stay out of state’s matters that are NOHFB, never mind that it is inappropriate for an elected fed official to be seen as inciting violence...
I was in college then, and was foolish over Nemesis-”Summer Breeze” was a fav...
Subtitulos espanol?
Yeah, not quite sure why those were necessary?

Remember this ditty from soap hunk Rick Springfield?
Who knew that Sammy Hagar wrote it?
(Warning: One bad word.)
I liked their harmonies. Weren’t seals and croft some weird b’hai faith?
I liked that song-and I had no idea Sammy Hagar wrote it.
Didn’t they also do HR Pufnstuf? ;-)
I think they were into something that seemed a bit out there...
I woke up with this Alan Parson’s Project one in my head (likely on the radio right before I woke up) and I was singing it while hiking this morning-
“Don’t say words you’re gonna regret
Don’t let the fire rush to your head
I’ve heard the accusation before
And I ain’t gonna take any more
Believe me
The sun in your eyes
Made some of the lies worth believing
I am the eye in the sky
Looking at you
I can read your mind
I am the maker of rules
Dealing with fools
I can cheat you blind
And I don’t need to see any more
To know that
I can read your mind, I can read your mind”
That tune was very popular in Mexico late one summer in the 80’s-we had driven down to visit my cousin and her husband at one of his digs in Durango, and it was on every radio station, nonstop...
I listened to that song last night!
Great minds think alike-or maybe not-I’m also fond of “Godzilla”...
Oh no! There goes Tokyo!
My first husband and I used to dance to that at a club that had a very eclectic band-they also did a very good version of “My Sharona”, among other tunes. Even as a happy independent woman, I miss having someone to dance with sometimes.
“History shows again and again how nature points up the folly of man-Godzilla!
History shows again and again how nature points up the folly of man-Godzilla!”
Good God-I just heard that union thugs knocked down and trampled a tent belonging to some reporters-with people in it. What in the hell do they hope top accomplish, other than to lose all their power in every other state next-this is insane conduct...
But that is his goal - just like with the trayvon crap - he weighed in and started crap. I honestly don’t think he wants congress to come up with a solution to the fiscal cliff either - he wants all of us to pay more in taxes. He feels everyone is richer than “his people” and wants us all to pay for past sins. Violence, higher taxes...just the beginning.
“His people” are the ones in Africa and Indonesia. We all have to be taken down for our sins of colonialism.
However the idiot leaves office-end of lame duck term, impeachment, or voluntary resignation like fellow crook Nixon-although if Obama keeps trashing and disrespecting the military, he might resign due to their displeasure-either way, I hope he is required to undergo psychological testing and therapy if he is to get continued secret service and insurance coverage-he is a loose cannon. He would be a danger to any security provider, as a private citizen if he keeps up the emperor delusion...
