Word For The Day, December 11, 2012

In order that we might all raise the level of discourse and expand our language abilities, here is the daily post of "Word for the Day".

Not even really offended either. The atheists are from Wisconsin. They can’t even see the nativity from there.

Thanks.

Re: the moving nativity. Can’t you see this happening in a big city where they have parking regulations? Around the block every 3 hours, or so, to take a slightly different parking place! Sounds like a plan.

Which makes me grateful for Wisconsin. At least outside of Madison, we don’t have problems with Nativity scenes. I think I’ll visit all of them around here out of gratitude. And the menorahs too.

There is a large, electrified Menorah in the lobby of St. mary’s hospital right next to the statue of the nun who founded the place! Nobody objects. In Grafton, there is another huge lighted Menorah right next to the annual Nativity display in the center of town. A mile away, there is a LIVE Nativity nightly in fromt of a Lutheran church.

Despite my crickety knees, I shall struggle to get mine out of the basement and on display for the season. I don’t think I’ll put up a tree this year, but I’ll do the Nativity scene.

Who knows? Next year, Obama’s minions could ban all such displays! Fie on them! Now that would be NEFARIOUS!

I guess we need to pay more attention to the nefarious objectives the atheists are plotting. It appears that the “unchurched” have become one of the largest political influences in the US and have largely been responsible for the recent pathetic election results.

The old coot has nefarious ideas about foreign policy, but he has some useful perspectives, domestically speaking.

I hear some teachers in Michigan are having a sick out today in protest of RTW.

Live nativities are the normal “workaround” for nativity bans. Can’t ban people peacefully gathering.

I read about 2/3rds of his latest book. Suicide of A Superpower.

I can’t say he was wrong.

The Trib still runs his column. I may not agree with his protectionism or anti-Israelism, but he has valid points on many issues.

Nefarious

The name given to a large upright wheel at state and county fairs. It was nefarious when several riders at the top upchucked their cotton candy and corn dogs on the folks below at a state fair.

Now that was a nefarious wheel. Some remember it as the chunky wheel or the “I wish I hadn’t looked up” wheeel.

We don’t have any bans, or suggested bans. These folks offer a Live nativity to the Community because they WANT to do it. Considering that there is snow and a high wind blowing, they must REALLY want to do it! They’re Lutherans. We Catholics stay indoors where it is warm!

My 5th graders text book emphasizes the Olmec over the others. We were just reading that yesterday.

One fears for the country after another four years of the nefarious Pharaobama and his "Nefertiti"...

Sunny and 50-it was downright cold this morning-28-but warmer in the cover of the woods, and it was just me and the wildlife on the trails, too-very nice...

When I see people whining about
The Obamabots’ nefarious actions
Then sitting back and pouting-not
Pushing back against those factions

Instead of asking what’s the use
And literally crying in their beer
Shouldn’t they just cowboy up
And put on their grownup gear?

It looks scary, the so-called cliff-
But those who don’t help themselves
Will be worse off with no sympathy
And no more government handout elves...

The Nativity scenes at our churches are intact and unprotested-if angry people who hate Christianity (and the first amendment) live here in the hinterlands, they are a totally silent minority.
