If this is indeed volcanic activity, it would give quite the show. Seismic location and depth would suggest magma is moving towards the surface.

Something to watch, the Island is almost completely covered by a glacier. Ice and magma make for a great show although in this case it would be more a satellite one...lol

Nope not a soul (least not directly) but the data and the Sat. pics could be awesome. However it is interesting to see a volcano come back to life regardless of the location...
Some back drop on Island.

A recent interpretation of the Mayan calender said Bouvet Island was going to have big problems.

in this case it would be more a satellite one...lol Unless Machogirl has a webcam link, lol. It not, it'd be a first! :)

This one is getting ready to blow up at just the right time. Few months back a report was published to the effect that all 'extinct' volcanos can become active again and again and again as magma wells up from the mantle and reheats their cores. Seems the cores are made of material that melts at a lower temperature than other parts of the crust.
Gave me the warm and fuzzies to realize that the half dozen ancient volcanic plugs around Northern Virginia could just turn to tuffa in a month or two and leave us with an even worse traffic jam than we have ever known.

Conflicting reports but at the link I gave there was an Island that vanished thought to be the works of this volcano but it’s classified only as a shield?

If any of the old volcanoes activated along the east coast...I don’t think we would care for we would have already been dust driven...lol

Yeah a bit away from the Island but this has a volcanic signature...
Not sure just yet what to make of it.

lol. Have a question though, if she blows and melts the glacier completely, who is Algore going to blame?
I was just looking at the “phantom islands” around Bouvet earlier this morning. Thompson Island and Saxemberg Island.
Could Bouvet have wiped them out?
