Officials are still trying to sort out what to do about a dead 40-foot fin whale that washed ashore last week in Malibu, creating a big stink.

The spit of sand is at the foot of a towering cliff, below Barbara Streisand's neighborhood that features massive estates of groomed lawns, swimming pools and tennis courts.

I have no idea what you're talking about. Wasn't my quote.

BTW, there are AH's in every town and state...I mean the AH's sometimes seem to be everywhere...But just because you ran into a few, doesn't mean everyone is a wealthy AH leftist celebrity.

I know some very wealthy in Malibu, some have created thousands of jobs and employee many more in their businesses. Not everyone is a corrupt banker, a Wall Street conman or some obnoxious celebrity. Believe it or not, there are a few wealthy out here who are pretty normal people who don't spend their time bumping bellies with TV models in the backs of limos.

There are many very wealthy business owners, inventors etc, who reside in Malibu, and these people have created many thousands of jobs in CA and all over the U.S.

Well said, dragnet.

Yeah, that's who I meant! I don't know why I think of her as Rosie! Got them confused.

Yikes! The tatoo's an elegant touch.

Said @ssholes do everything they can to prevent access to the beach, even erect orange "do not cross" barriers to try and cordon off sections of beach.

BTW, it goes a bit beyond that.

Many are big biz owners, celebrities, inventors and others with extreme wealth. They're targets for any drugged out lumberhead or crazed stalker looking to get rich quick or kill someone they've become obsessed with. Many have high end armed security, dogs, CCTV cameras, alarms, motion sensors etc, for good reason. It's no secret, this area attracts people like Charlie Manon types...

If your looking for the real arrogant AH's and kings of corruption, look in areas like Loudoun or Fairfax County near Washington D.C.

Wow. That is a lot of money. I am very poor compared to these people. So redistribution means that my cut of their estate would be a million or so.

Besides, how many children and family does Babs have? She certainly doesn't need anything bigger than 1000 square foot condo.

If I were king of America, I take all of her wealth and give it to the little people just like Obama is doing.

Being sarcastic here. :)

I certainly hope so! {^)

I only meant to point out that I expect the property's real value is closer to $15 or even $20 million. Kudos to any who can afford and earn it through their work and discipline, which I believe Babs has. I only wish she'd keep her $ and her voice out of politics, which includes environmentalism.

Perhaps I was unclear. If you did not see it, or were not in SoCal to see the pics, the turds were stringing orange netting from the back of their property down to within feet of the water. Anyone that walked around the end of the fence to sit on the dry sand would be chased off by security.

These were not homeless taking a dump in Geffen's back yard, just people trying to use public beaches. Give it a break with sympathy for the ultra-rich, no one has issues with them keeping the barrio dwellers out of the yard.

Stop twisting things. yes, I do recall when Geffen put a locked gate on a public beach access path after some clown wandered into his house to use the head. Why was the clown's house unlocked in the first place? Home security is justified. Attempting to keep the peasants you dislike illegally off the beach in front of your house is what got people guillotined in France.

I do not care much anyway, I live in Hawaii these days and that crap will not stand here. Was born and lived in SoCal for 59 years, so still have roots and memories.

I had to laugh at the mention of news helos hovering all over, remembering that hag Strieshit trying to sue the guy that took detailed photos all along the coast and showed her estate in detail. That went nowhere fast. Hope the bitch likes the stench and the news attention!

Hawaii is nice, but very liberal. Most I have known who moved there, eventually move back stateside, citing island fever, lack of work, etc.

BTW, I don't care much either. There are lots of beaches to go to other than Malibu. In fact, there is a lot more to do or see, than just go to the beach...It's probably why it's by far, the most populated state.

After watching Calif. sink into the sewer as I (sort of) matured politically and after the NY'er influx of the 70's, I knew the place was doomed. The illegal invasion, the King riots, etc. just cemented things. You can only move so far out of LA and still work in some professions.

When you come to dread even driving through LA, let alone stopping there for something, you know the time has come to bail out. We had been vacationing in HI for decades, so had a good idea what living here would entail.

Luckily, I no longer feed the liberal tax monster. IRA, SS, and family trust take care of that hopefully. I hate the liberalism, but by and large, it does not much affect us. Hawaii firearms laws are less draconian that Calif. believe it or not. The dreaded assault rifles are plentiful and popular here.

We know what we like, and nothing on the mainland has it, without stifling heat/humidity or freezing snows. Being a geezer makes staying comfortably warm a priority. After six and a half years here, no rock fever. Not set foot on the mainland either in that time, other than passing through on the way to Panama. LAX had me gritting my teeth.

Living on a sparsely populated island (not Oahu) helps enormously. Would not trade anything for what we have here. Great place if you do not like people much.

HAHAHA Babs....Keep the whale on the beach until all possible research is done on how it got there and why it died.

I saw one of these dead whales in Monterey once and it’s the biggest stink you ever smelled.

Sic the California Coastal Commission on the beach, whale and the neighborhood NOW! That whale comprises the only legitimate use of a California beach. Let it die and decompose in peace as nature intended.
Animals and their memories trump all human experience, you know that!

Ooh, name it Rosie. Or Oprah. Or Babs.

There was Harpoon Hanna -
Had a face that made you shudder.
Lips like fishhooks
And a nose just like a rudder.
If I kissed her
And held her tenderly
There's no sea monster big enough
To ever fighten me.

(Kirk Douglas singing a Whale of a Tale)

Sorry you lived in LA or had to worked there...Seems you made a bad choice. You sound angry about it.

I live in a very nice area of CA and have absolutely no desire to move.

Cheers!
