Officials are still trying to sort out what to do about a dead 40-foot fin whale that washed ashore last week in Malibu, creating a big stink.

The spit of sand is at the foot of a towering cliff, below Barbara Streisand's neighborhood that features massive estates of groomed lawns, swimming pools and tennis courts.

That was tried before, with ... remarkable results.

You should see Michale Moore's place in Michigan

Michael Moore's Michigan home

Of course, there are no nice Pacific breezes, few sunny days, and the temps there much of the time resemble freezer settings. The weather there is met for a graveyard setting.

Much as I like your sentiment, the reality will not allow it. Law states that private property ends at the mean high tide mark, which I suspect the whale is well below.

That law and the @ssholes that live on the beaches there have been a sore point for decades for the unwashed masses that might wish to go enjoy the "public" beach. Said @ssholes do everything they can to prevent access to the beach, even erect orange "do not cross" barriers to try and cordon off sections of beach.

Let it stink.

Come on...There is plenty of time for that at your next Homeowners Association meeting.

CNBC is now reporting the homeless have already devoured half the carcass.

Authorities from 72 different government agencies are considering allowing them to eat it to the bone and are awaiting a news conference from the Governor.

They will handle this the Democrat/liberal way. Republicans would have drug it back out to sea and pumped holes into it until it sank. Whale gone. The Democrat way is different. Since it’s a whale, they won’t want to bother it, so it will lay there for a week while they hope that it was just sunbathing and would eventually swim back out to sea. Then, they’ll have to mourn it for a week. After that, they’ll call the garbage company to see if they can do something. By now, the whale is melting. Then, there will be a fight between the rich liberals who want it gone and the environmentalist liberals who want to leave the carcass there for the feral cats to eat. Eventually, someone will complain enough to some level of government so that the taxpayers will have to pay to clean it up. So, we have a big mess, it stinks, the Democrats don’t know what to do except make it worse, and the middle class taxpayers will have to take care of it. It’s a typical Democrat response except that George Soros isn’t making billions off it.

Whale is ABOVE Mean High Tide and has been since it washed ashore, which is why it is still there, State says you get past the mean high tide and they will take care of it, county says sorry it is on Private Property. Which is why the whale is still there, the Whiney Malibo Owners of this Beach REFUSE TO PAY FOR THE CLEANUP, and continue to BEG the Taxpayers to cover the costs. ergo STalemate.

CNN: Local news agencies are reporting no less than 12 news helicopters from local broadcast stations are circling the beach.

News crews from all over the world are now descending on LAX in hopes of obtaining video of the beached Malibu whale, before it's eaten by the homeless.

ABC is reporting several hundred members of pro animal groups are at the scene which is no resembling a peaceful, yet loud protest. A governors news conference is scheduled for 12 p.m. PST.

I stand corrected, if true. The pic I saw clearly showed the carcass lying in the water, which by definition is well below the high tide mark, so what has changed?

he has the most trouble getting paid by the residents of those two communities.

I'm not surprised. These are people who brazenly demand that your taxpayer dollars be spent to solve their local problems and protect their home property values.

arrogant snobs treat everyone like crap 99% of the time and then try to make themselves feel good about themselves by pushing the liberal agenda the remaining 1% of the time.

Yup. In my experience they are obnoxious and condenscending. They have an excessive sense of self-worth, particularly relative to the "little people". Doesn't matter what your job is...they seriously expect you to make them your priority.

not sure, but that is what has been on the Radio since this began, including all the responses from government agencies. You are on your Own, it is not our problem. But EVERYONE in Malibi is a recipient of Welfare by means of their Homeowners Insurance which is subsidized by the TAXPAYERS. That is how the FAIR plan came about. Which is precisely why they want the TAXPAYERS to PAY for it.

I still remember going to the beach there after they strung up the orange netting to try and keep part of the beach to themselves. This was to section it off laterally, not to keep people away from their houses, which I would understand. Even had security hired to patrol and shoo away anyone that laid a towel too close to the net.

I came to give a shiite about the liberals down there, my favorite beaches became the three state beaches to the north where you had to hike down the bluff.

A 10 million dollar estate in Malibu ...

I'd say a bit more than that.
