The little Henry .22 is one of the best deals around. Saw them at Dick’s for under $300.00.

Very smooth action, quality craftsmanship and MADE IN USA.

That’s a wonderful rifle for a boy. I’m in the market for a Henry Golden Boy Eagle Scout rifle. But the price difference between the basic and the Eagle Scout version is rather substantial...almost triple. You’d think that the Henry company would want people to purchase that rifle. But the way they’ve priced it makes me think they never really wanted to sell very many.

Henry’s facility is under-water in NJ, they are not producing anything right now. Whatever is on the shelves is what is available for the time-being. They are selling out quickly.

My son has a Youth model and I really like shooting it, too. Great guns at really good prices.

When I was young, people even bought their daughters a gun. Most were either a .22 single shot or a .410 single barrel. Now the males wear more jewelry and hair dye than the females.

Does the action only cycle .22LR, or will it feed shorts, etc?

I’m thinking it would be darned quiet shooting shorts. And it would hold a bunch of them.

I would encourage anyone who wants a lever action .22 to save the other $200 and buy the Marlin 39. It is 10 times the gun for less than twice as much. It is worth the extra money. The Henry is cheapened in every way possible. I wish that were not the truth, but the truth it is. If you want a rifle that you can pass down through generations, then get the Marlin.
Disclaimer: I gunsmith for a living and DO NOT have an investment in either company.
