Ah yes the Batman theme. Back in 66 going through OCS, we had a morning run in the rain with ponchos on. It wasn’t long before one of the guys started up with the BATMAN, nana, nana, nana, nana, because of the flopping ponchos, this went on for a while until it became Baaaaat Maaaaan, naaaana, naaaana, naaaaana, and then just back to the normal cadence. It is one of my most memorable unforgotten incidents of my past.

Ah, yes. The poetic abilities of drill instructors. In the summer of 1972, many a miserable hot day was wiled away marching cadence to The Candy Man Can.

LOL! That show was huge back then. I saw an interview once with Burt Ward where he said they were like rock stars, girls would constantly hit on him and Adam West and they would get mobbed everywhere they went. Great memories, back then I must have been 5 or 6 when that show was on yet I remember certain episodes clear as day like one where Batman was getting cement poured on top of him and then the show ended on that cliffhanger and WOW I can’t wait till next show! AAH! What’s funny is kids never realized the show was campy, I took it completely serious! LOL!
